The Descent: Part 2 Trailers

Distraught, confused, and half-wild with fear, Sarah Carter emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where she encountered unspeakable terrors. Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions.

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

The Descent is a masterpiece of horror- It came out of nowhere and stunned audiences and critics alike. There was no doubt that a sequel had to be made and thus we have The Descent 2 which somehow carries on the legacy of the failed sequel. Yes, there is a cave and there are cave monsters but what is lacking is a soul. This film proves the importance of a deft hand behind the camera and a great screenplay. We still have the cave and the same monsters, yet this is a letdown of a movie.

That's exactly what this movie is. A sequel. It's the same movie but there's guys in it now. And spoiler. They die too. It's mediore. Some decent action shots. The creatures just aren't as frightening now that you know the potential. Watch if you're bored. Skip if you care about your movie watching moments.

******Spoilers below*******The only thing that wasn't realistic in this entire cave creature movie was that old hillbilly driving the tow truck. So Sarah runs to him in the road and he stopped for her and brought her to the police/hospital yet when he sees the deputy he pushes her back into the cave hole to feed the creatures? WTF? Why not just kill sarah too or bring her back to the hole?

Honestly, you just HAD to make a Part Two? The first one did so well, but as you can tell by just the Rotten Tomatoes score, something changed. First of all, guys, when something works ... do not try to "fix" it. Oh, you thought maybe the first movie was too dark and it would be better if we were able to see more? Well, the darkness is what made it scarier. (Not to mention more realistic.) This is why it is not scary this time. The ambient light coming from nowhere in a dark cave system!! LOL We are laughing our heads off at whoever it was who decided to use more light. I mean, come on! Did they bring someone new in who thought he/she/they could do a horror film properly? Well, they didn't know how to do their job. Another reason to keep it dark in this film ... the sets are horrendous. I feel like I just got transported onto a Star Trek set from the 1960s. Bottom line, the first movie was good. Let it be. Don't watch this. They couldn't even tie Part Two in properly with the first movie, right off the bat. There is nothing here that will be answered, if you even had questions after the first. Just more of the same, death and survival. Please, do not make a Part Three.
