... View MoreI don't know exactly which friend or acquaintance (or just a Net-blog) told me about the Patton Oswalt skit involving Deathbed: The Bed That Eats, but I am glad to finally get a chance to see it during this unusually very long and sometimes uneven comedy stand-up show. I actually got a chance to see Deathbed within the last year. Though you don't have actually have to see that rancid movie, it helps with Oswalt's, uh, dead-on humor involving the movie.Okay, that was just one segment of many in Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubadour and you'll have to wait for the end of over two hours of footage. Two hours? Two plus hours? Sure, a lot of it was funny, but I wouldn't want to be part of the audience who apparently shared the "Stand-Up" with the comedians on stage as they had no seats.I'm not trying to be harsh; I love this type of humor, especially uncensored and dark-humor. And you would have to, as well. In addition, you certainly would have to have an open mind and relax a bit, allowing those PC thoughts vanish.Unfortunately, however, some were not as funny as others and sometimes they introduced the following comedian to the stage, sometimes not. I'm guessing this was not part of the show, but the times they were supposed to, I suppose they didn't know they were and stumbled.By far, Oswalt was the funniest, followed by Galifianakis (and his "twin" Seth,) Posehn and Silverman. The rest, though somewhat funny, seemed like filler. And with a runtime this long, perhaps they didn't need to censor themselves, just a bit of editing would've been nice. I did, however, like the group's comradery. Obviously they're friends, and it was nice to see them putting the show on to support themselves, but more likely just to have a good time. With a few good drinks.
... View MoreGot lucky and caught this gem on Comedy Central's "Secret Stash". If you are a fan of stand up comedy you will love this. No glitzy production investment here, just some of the best, brightest and funniest comedians raw and uncut.Sarah Silverman is classic Sarah, making fun of anyone and everyone. Patton Oswald is at his best with a rant about the worst movie ever to be made. Maria Bamford is her usual crazy self and talks about a unique talk she had with her pet pug. Brian Posehn is as great as ever, his delivery and choice of topics will have you cracking up.All in all, it is a must see for those who like to laugh out loud by themselves or with friends.
