The Amityville Haunting Trailers

This movie is a 'found-footage' film about the Benson family who move in to the infamous house where the DeFeo family were murdered in the 1970s over 30 years earlier. Things start happening to anyone who visits this house, and whoever lives there. This is the footage retrieved from the camera.

I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.

There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

So I decided to sit down one day and watch this movie because I was looking for something scary. This was catagorized as a horror film so I was excited to see something scary. Little did I know that throughout the entire film NOTHING HAPPENED. All that I watched was a joke of a movie. The acting was trash, camera work was trash as well. All together it was a WASTE OF MY TIME. I advise you to not watch this movie unless you like to waste time. I would rather watch paint dry on a wall than watch this movie again. ABSOLUTE TRASH. Please do not watch this movie unless you enjoy being bored to death. I mean I understand this is a low budget film but I think I could put together a better movie than this.

I have rarely ever seen such an instantly unlikeable film and cast of characters. It's amazing what can be cranked out to try and make a buck. The dialogue is atrocious and unbelievable, especially when it's delivered by such atrocious actors. The younger actors can get a little break since they're young, but the adults should know better than to give such terrible performances. The parents in this were among the most awful I've ever seen -- not only were they hideously unlikeable as characters, they were utterly uncharismatic as actors. And who says the things they were saying when seeing the house? If I were that real estate agent, I'd have felt as awkward as she looked like she was feeling.'The family did not survive', the poster informs us. After watching ten minutes of this, you'll answer it with 'so what?'

I really, really wish I had checked out the reviews on this before I watched it. Would have saved me 1 and 1/2 hours of my life that I will never get back now. Found it on Netflix and thought, I have seen some pretty bad movies, how bad can it be really? IT CAN BE REALLY BAD!This was like the worst film, ever. Acting, script, dialogue, setting, all total sh*t. Sorry, but it is the truth! They mention Amityville and the Defaeo family, but nothing else really jibes. The "Shadow" (knock off of Halloween, anyone?) did not even try to look like Ronald DeFaeo, Jr. The dad was a complete and utter asshole, and the guy who played his part could not act his way out of a paper bag. I spent most of my time trying to get a good view of the smallest girl, because she looks a lot like my cousin, lol. Kinda freaked me out just how much. All in all, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Take it from someone who wasted some of hers on this crap.

Okay so I actually managed to watch the whole thing. The dad (Doughlas) is so annoying throughout the whole film. He does nothing but yell and denies everything everyone says to him. Bad acting mixed with bad scripts. Also the deaths scenes are pretty laughable. It seems like they were trying to make a Paranormal Activity parody, like "Scary Movie" or whatever. It got 2 stars because it has a few small jump scares, which I appreciate. I know it's a low-budget movie but it's like they don't even try anymore. The young daughter was the only one with fair acting. Everyone else was horrible.Oh and once again, the dad was so annoying. I can't say it enough.
