Good start, but then it gets ruined

A lot of fun.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

Nice entertainer.Its just like a normal Vijay movie,but it has a lot of twists and turns.Watch it for Director Vijay because his movies are always nice.This film if better than Vijay's previous films,like Vettaikaaran,Sura,those were utter flops.But this film is nice,but it can be a little boring at times,but it has good action,comedy,twists,and music.Watch it,but not with too much expectations.3 hours can be a entertainment without too much expectations.There should have been another heroine and not Amala Paul.The film could have been better though,with a better intro song(The other songs were nice),and with a little trimming done to the movie.My rating is 7/10:Good.

Was disappointed seeing this movie after getting a lot of positive responses. Nirav's work was a visual treat, I must say. The comedy is good too. Every film lover is aware of Mario Puzo's Godfather and every Indian must be aware of Mani Ratnam's Nayagan and Thevar Magan. Not another inspiration of these movies. Still I don't find the logic of super-heroism in almost every Indian movie's protagonist. Vijay's character in this movie is no exception to this (like how a dancer can suddenly fight and tear down a whole rival gang and become a leader with no fight history). Was laughing when Vijay's character was called "Neenga", "Vaanga", "poonga" by people much older to him. The movie may be good or even better, if you're a Vijay's fan or not a regular viewer of classy movies.

Thalaivaa is a new generation movie by director Vijay. The first half of the movie is romantic and the second half is very thrilling. The script of this story is the best in Kollywood as the story is very natural. vijay's acting is superb and the fight scenes are perfect. Interval sequence is the best ever seen!!! santhanam rocks!!! The movie would have been more better if it's duration was 2hrs(by avoiding the lags)... after thuppakki, Thalaivaa becomes Vijay's next blockbuster. the only defect of the movie is the lagging scenes, each and every scene of the movie is dragged to maximum time for no reason. the plus points are the movie script, vijay's performance(fast dance,song,acting,fight,etc,etc),santhanam's best performance ever,interval sequence,climax,etc.
