A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Nothing was worth watch in this yawning film other than manoj bajpayee. Arjun looks good as the action hero(he's got a good personality) but his presence is eaten away by the sore screenplay. Sonakshi- let's not talk about her.Okkadu starring Mahesh Babu, Bhoomika Chawla and Prakash Raj was an all-time blockbuster and cult movie for many reasons which was the reason I was excited to watch this movie. Unfortunately I couldn't catch it in the theatres because of the poor response and I few days ago I saw it on TV but it didn't even worth my time.People are comparing bang bang and brothers to their Hollywood versions and insulting them(which is true) so now I am going to compare it with few parts in the Telugu version to prove why this film was so bad. 1. Movie is about a kabaddi player so an important essence of the plot lies in kabaddi. In fact, the climax of all the south versions was in the kabaddi with the national kabaddi game as the pre-climax. But here there is only 1 kabaddi match that too in 'Rajinikanth' style!!!????2. There was very melodious song in all the south versions in the 2nd half in the moonlight with the charminar in the background and it is presented by the hero, his sister and their respective friends to make the actress feel happy. But here, that song is replaced by a senseless party song????There are many other reasons like this. But apart from these the major drawback is the screenplay of the film which is toooooooooooo boring and slow. Otherwise, just like for mahesh babu this film would have made arjun the next big thing in bollywood.

I watched movie after two days of release. mostly comments were negative. but due to its songs I watched the movie and I really loved this movie. story is old but presentation is really great. Arjun Kapoor did a excellent work. Manoj Vajpai was great. He got the full marks and he is the life of movie. Sonkshi Sinha is average. Raj Babbar didn't get time to show his acting skills. I must say if you want a masala movie then you should watch this. Don't go on bad comments every movie can't be "PK". This type of movie are also good and this movie did really great in this category. Songs are good and of all moods. Shruti Hassan looked stunning in item number. Direction is upto mark. Bony kapoor made a good movie for his son. it will definitely add a milestone in his career. from-Prashant Gupta www.caprashant.in

'Tevar' meaning attitude is filled with macho-ism, routine action sequences and cheesy romance. Never expected some class cinema going through it, tried having an open-mind to enjoy anything it offers but still it failed terribly. Very bad start to new year for Bollywood. 'Tevar' has nothing new using regular formula of masala drama in Indian Cinema.Main hero here played by Arjun Kapoor is Pintu Shukla a local kabbadi player of Agra, capable of winning matches single-handedly. Apart from that he is also a human-superman always ready to help people in danger using his strength. While Arjun tries his best to give a decent act but the character of Pintu lacks motivation and direction. His one-dimensional motive of helping out anybody no matter what lacks substance. At the same time we are introduced to the villain in Mathura, Gajendra Singh (Manoj Bajpai) a crime lord and the brother of Home minister. He falls for Radhika (Sonakshi Sinha) while watching her dance and straightaway starts pressurizing her to marry him. Both Pintu's and Radhika's road cross while Pintu was visiting Mathura and sees Gajendra forcibly dragging away Radhika who was trying to escape to U.S. As always our Superman needs to save the damsel, and here on the story is very predictable and seldom engaging. While the first hour of character development was very bland and boring, but suddenly film gets engaging in the middle with some chase sequences and interactions between the villain and hero. Manoj Bajpai is always dependable but his talents are wasted here. Even though he was great to watch in many scenes yet the character of Gajendra also like the hero is quite one-dimensional. On the opposite side, Sonakshi Sinha gives another bad performance. She was unable bring forth her romance on the screen which is the only thing her character does starring clueless at Pintu. Surprises me she gave such a wonderful act in 'Lootera', her only film I liked so far. While Pintu's family was more likable though especially his sister. The film was not pathetic until the last half-an-hour of prolonged and tiring climax with lame predictable ending. The film is shot nicely though, its always wonderful to have Taj Mahal in the backdrop.Debut director Amit Sharma shows a lot inconsistency. All the songs do not fit into screenplay nicely and feel forced. There is also romance and song in a chase sequence in second half which completely ruins the thrill and atmosphere built up. The dialogues are unremarkable plus the action is senseless and dumb. The length of 150 plus minutes is deterrent and mind-numbing. The production value is high, but even with lots of promotion I think this film will simply fail to entertain the audience. Overall, 'Tevar' was not only a terrible piece cinema but falls hugely short even as routine Bollywood action-flick.RATING: [1/5]

Pintoo Shukla (arjun) is the son of an IPS officer (raj babbar) and he is gutsy, rough and tough but at the same time knows how to respect and treat women. He loves Kabaddi and heads to Mathura. In tha place lives Radhika (sonakshi) who falls in the eyes of the notorious Bahubali Gajendra Singh (manoj bajpayee) desperate to marry her. A chance incident ends up with Pintoo clashing against Gajendra and what happens from there forms the rest. The director has come up with a action packed romantic storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was engaging enough. The dialogues were well written. The script was familiar but the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was needed more because the films drags at places,15-20 min trim was needed. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was natural. Arjun Kapoor has shown his improvement once again and he does a very good job. Sonakshi Sinha made her presence felt. The best among the lot is Manoj Bajpayee, he was too good. Subrat Dutta was impressive, Raj Babbar was seen in a great form after awhile, Rajesh Sharma was apt. Shruti Haasan sizzled with her song. The film is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Okkadu starring Mahesh Babu and it must be said that the director has not deviated from the original. The first half goes about with certain elements of humor, romance and action. The interval bang was interesting and the second half has the same momentum filled with action and drama. The climax sequences came out well. Overall, this is a film which has been packaged with the right kind of commercial masala that would appease the audience, yes the story is done to death but works, reasons being the film is surrounded with entertaining sequences, the acting is top notch, and action is great. Only negative is the films pace. Finally this a film which should attract all masala film lovers its not made for lovers of serious art cinema. A mass film.3.25/5* or 6.5/10
