... View MoreTere Ghar Ke Samne is all time enjoyable movie. Though it is black and white, it is very interesting movie. I appeal all people of all age to watch this movie at least once. The story is superb with happy end. Songs are also fantastic and will be liked by those who have got Rafi and Lata in their list of favorite singers. Devanand and Nutan are at best in their performance. Om Prakash and Harindranath have also performed well in their comedy roles. Music by S.D. Burman is very melodious. The dialoges are very comedy and film has been excellently directed. It has been directed by Vijay Anand. Vijay Anand has also directed other successful films like Guide, Jewel Thief, Jhony Mera Naam etc. Worth watching once.
... View MoreA beautiful romantic comedy movie remembered for number of melodious songs which remain popular today. After Paying Guest (1957), this is the best known Dev Anand - Nutan vehicle. The movie is about two feuding millionaires, Seth Karamchand (Chattopadyaya)and Lala Jagannath (Prakash) who want to build their house in front of each other. Jagannath's son architect Rakesh Kumar (Dev Anand ) is commissioned to construct both houses. In addition he falls in love with Karamchand's daughter Sulekha (Nutan) & both do their best to hide from their parents. Finally after a lot of drama (handled well) the two rivals get together for their children. Omprakash, Nootan's father & the Dev's mother are just hilarious. Specially Dev's mother has done a great job. Their fights in auction, in the society/club election are of great entertainment. All in all a frothy musical comedy with some classic hits such as 'Dil Ka Bhanvar Kare Pukar' & 'Yeh tanhai Hai' etc. Each one is truly refreshing. 'Dil ka bhanwar' is my all time favorite.
... View MoreNot much of a plot here but it is still an enjoyable movie. Dev Anand's and Nutan's father's are enemies and when they think of making their own houses, both end up purchasing a plot of land in front of each other's. And they also end up with the same architect Rakesh (Dev Anand). Dev's father insists to his son that his house should be better than the others' not knowing that the others' architect was Dev only. And Nutan on her father's behalf says the same thing. How Dev manages all this is what the story is about. He fools Nutan, her father and his own father with lies and he still has time to romance with Nutan. The songs are unforgettable with "Dil Ka Bhawar Kare Pukar" being my favorite. Actually this song is well shot. They could not shoot the song in real Qutb Minar because it is a narrow staircase and it would be impossible to shoot the song with all the cameras rolling. And the actor's movements could not be restricted as well. So they had to build a "Qutb Minar like" structure on the sets and the cameras are cleverly concealed.Another song "Ek Ghar Banaounga" is wonderfully pictured. Dev imagines Nutan in his glass of wine and sings to her promising that he will build a house for both of their parents even though they might be enemies. Other melodies include "Dekho Rootha Na Karo", "Ye Tanhai", "Pyar Ki Saza" and "Tu Kahan"Dev Anand and Nutan give a wonderful performance and Vijay Anand directs the film well. This is a film that is enjoyable for its music and above all Dev Anand's debonair ways which makes him look very comical but adorable.
... View MoreThough not very different from the many hindi love stories, this movie will always be remembered for its music. The songs mostly sung by Lata and Rafi are molodius and naughty. Dev Anand has Nutan opposite him for change and they work charm together. If you are a Dev Anand fan, do not miss this movie; if you are not, this movie has the potential to make you one.
