It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
... View MoreI wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
... View MoreExcellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
... View MoreThe movie really just wants to entertain people.
... View More'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009)' is essentially a less nuanced version of 'Captain America: Civil War (2016)'. It presents an interesting premise but does mostly boil it down to its most barebones of beats, with more moments ending up in high-flying but appropriately weighty fisticuffs than in character development or other narrative-based thought. Still, there's consistent fun to be had and, though the characterisations are all fairly basic and unfaltering, the admittedly fairly generic story tries to be at the forefront of the piece at all times. There are only some sections in which that focus seems to have been slightly misplaced, moments in which the punch-ups overshadow the plot. Even then, however, there's always entertainment in seeing our heroes fight their C-list - and sometimes even D-list - foes (with a few more famous cameos thrown in for fun), even when it would better serve the narrative for a more subtle scene. Silly moments come and go, too, but can all but be forgotten in the wider context of the piece. In the end, this is enjoyable but pretty one-note stuff. 6/10
... View MoreI always have to watch anything with the same TV voices of Batman and Superman."Was it interesting?" The beginning was a little too obvious social commentary. The last act seemed out of place for the rest of the film 1.5 out of 3 "Was it memorable?" The most annoying part was the artwork. That style mixed with the memorable voices just seemed to clash for me.1 out of 3 "Was it entertaining?" For a comic book movie, there is not too much to complain about the action. For just over an hour, this seemed a bit too long though.1.5 out of 3 Starting with 1 (because the people demanded), 1 + 1.5 + 1 + 1.5 = 5 A rather "meh" animated action movie for me. Some of the patriotism from a few of the characters seemed really far fetched.
... View MoreThis could have been a good movie. But it fails miserably in reinforcing a complete ignorance of how the American government works. The president is not a king or an emperor, and has absolute power over no one and nothing. This is a horrible thing to expose already undereducated youth to, and shows that the writers need to go back and retake some grade school civics and social studies. If you don't understand the fundamental basics of how a government functions; legislation, branches, offices, etc.. Maybe you shouldn't use them in your stories. As stated, without the story being a complete insult, this could have been fun.
... View MoreI like Batman a lot but I hate Superman and I gave this movie a try... but it only made me laugh about how bad it is.The story is lame, superficial and unrealistic even for a Comic - The action was senseless - No character introduction (This made me laugh cause the male "heroes" look almost all the same, the difference is they have other colours and one is gayer than the other.) - I don't really know why but almost all male heroes appeared to be gay in a way I can't explain. - It was not as bad as Superman Returns. - Indirect sexual jokes. WTF? I don't think that something like that belongs in there though it made me laugh cause it was so unexpected. But all in all you'd better not watch this, maybe if you are a DC fanatic but also under these circumstances: Don't expect much.
