Am I Missing Something?
... View MoreExcellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
... View MoreBlistering performances.
... View MoreA terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
... View MoreSpiderbabe (2003) * 1/2 (out of 4) Softcore take-off on Spiderman has Misty Mundae playing Patricia Porker, a social outcast who is bitten by a radioactive spider, which turns her into a crime fighter as well as lesbian lover. These low-budget softcore movies are usually good for a quick laugh and some cheap sex scenes and this here is really no different. Whereas Sam Raimi's films relied on special effects, this one here just needs constant lesbian scenes and the only effect is that our crime fighter can shoot spider webs from between her legs. For the most part this is a pretty silly movie that features some awful direction that really never adds any energy or excitement. I think the biggest problem with the film is that there's simply no good pacing and even though it runs just 88-miutes it feels twice as long. The story itself is a pretty silly one and the dialogue is horrible but you really can't blame the screenplay too much since it's obvious that the most important thing were the sex scenes. The sex scenes happen at least every three or four minutes and for the most part they are lesbians scenes. The only decent thing in the movie are a few of the sexual fantasies that our hero has while she's still playing the outcast. The sex scenes are clearly the best thing here with the standout being the one between Misty and Darian Caine who plays her best friend. SPIDERBABE is certainly going to mainly appeal to fans of Mundae but others might get a few cheap thrills out of its campy nature.
... View More"Spiderbabe" was simply amazing. The deep undertones of racial tension reverberated throughout the film. My southern heritage was called into question, and I was persuaded to leave the Daughters of the Confederacy. I am now an advocate for the dissolving of the Mason-Dixon line. Not only that, but now I know the true beauty of lesbian love. The visual effects were so lifelike that at times my Acraphobia was agitated! My sexuality was aroused in an area that I never thought was possible: towards a woman. My roommate looks a little like Misty Mundae, and so I really became attracted to her. But, shhh, don't tell! The only thing that could have possibly made this Oscar-worthy film better was if they expanded on "Tender White: Grandma's Douche." I would give it a 69, but it only goes to 10.
... View MoreSure, this film was retarded. But you expected that the moment you looked at the cover-box. It's a B movie, and on the T&A factor this movie delivered. Truthfully, it was funnier than expected. While it was by no means a work of comedic genius, like "The Party Animal" or "Orgazmo", as far as B movies go it was worth the watch, if you're into that sort of thing anyway.Christians and morally-oriented parental groups, this is soft-core adult entertainment. If you don't want your children watching sexual content and nudity, then you should keep your children away from this film.
... View MoreA soft-core parody of Spiderman. Misty Mundae is Patricia Porker, a nerd, who gets bitten by a spider and becomes spiderbabe. And yes her web shooting abilities ARE organic, but they don't come from he wrists...I wanted to like this movie, I really did. I started the dvd with high hopes. Alas this film has 3 strikes against it. The comedy just isn't funny. Strike one. It seems too long. strike TWO. And the sex scenes...well they're not sexy. STRIKE THREE!! I'm sorry to all who were involved in this film, but in this outing you've just been struck out.My Grade: DDVD Extras: Both the R and unrated versions; Misty Mundae and Julian Wells Interview;Music Video and the "Making of";Outtakes & Bloopers ;"OutThere TV" Clip featuring Emily Booth;3 deleted Scenes; Behind-The-Scenes; Making the Costume; Trailers for "Screaming Dead", "Lord of the G-strings", "Play-mate of the Apes", "Lustful Addiction", "Dr. Jekyll & Mistress Hyde", "satan's School for Lust", "Erotic Vampire in Paris", "Roxanna", & "Misty Mundae: Mummy Raider"
