This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

This inverted rabbit hole of a film is one weird trip through an Escher drawing. Having said that, upon watching it again recently, I can honestly say that it is not as far fetched as I had originally thought it to be. Just look around at the state of things, and who is in charge of them, it's not a big leap per se.

I think the producers' idea with this movie was that if you have an artsy sci fi basic plot, add a well known director in Richard Kelly and add in a host of recognisable actors, people will flock to see your movie. Whether people were actually sucked in by this and went and saw it in theatres, I don't know, but I just saw it on cable and it sure did suck, big time. The plot, if you can call it that, is random at best and generally quite boring and pretentious. The actors are mostly 80s/90s has-beens, eg Christopher Lambert, John Larroquette, or B-grade idols of teens, eg Justin Timberlake, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar. And then, the crowning glory - the movie is 2 hrs 24 minutes long! No marks for editing either.Only thing preventing this from being a 1/2-star movie is the Justin Timberlake dream sequence in the middle, involving JT lip-synching The Killers' "All these things that I've done", with an army of nurses. Very cool.

I loved this movie. I also loved the fact that the first 3 chapters were in comic form. I strongly advise all who want to see this to view the first three comic book chapters, then try to find the Cannes Film Festival version, which has an extra 20 minutes in it. If you loved Donnie Darko and The Box, you will enjoy this journey. A reinvention of the apocalyptic tales from Revelations. More visions of time travel and portals. Post 9/11 police state realities. Sarah Michelle's Krysta Now is hilarious. Sean William Scott's mysterious part in the end of all things. The Rock's participation and vision of "JC" - Jesus Christ anyone?? Read the comics and enjoy the last four filmatic chapters. I loved it. So there.

I really don't get why so many people don't like this movie. The only thing I can come up with is that most people in general are pretty dumb. All I ever hear people say is " nothing happens" or it doesn't make sense. I think people just don't get it which is weird cause it's perfectly easy to understand. It's shot well , the story is interesting and despite the fact that it's not a comedy, most of the actors are comedians who all do a pretty good job. Honestly, this is one my favorite films. Way better than Donnie Darko I think. Which is also a decent film but trendy and overrated. This movie is way underrated. I would say that too many people listen to reviews rather than watching a whole film and forming their own opinion.
