Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

Let me put it to you this way. Showgirls is the unrealized sequel to Casino, which came out a few months later. The seedy corporations of Las Vegas are the new legal Mafia. Except this time, there is no reason to bury pour souls in the desert. All they need is false advertisement and tons of cocaine.

I'm giving this 3 out of 10 stars, but I'm going to try to be nice in explaining why. Newsday (here in New York) gave this No Stars and called it the worst movie of the year back in 1995 (And in my opinion, "Joe's Apartment" was the worst movie of 1995, not this). I was only 16 when this movie was released in theaters, and I wouldn't see it until 2014, on a night when my son was in bed early and there was nothing to do. I noticed this was coming on, and even though it had only 1 star out of 4 on the TV ratings, I said to my husband "Let's watch it. How bad can it be?". Well, I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it enough to give it 1 star. It sends out a terrible message: That to get ahead in life, you've got to be a slut. There's the constant flashing of breasts and butts, but even if you like nudity in films, you'll get tired of that quick because of the plot (or lack thereof). In fact, there was only one part of this movie that I can recommend watching, and that's the 'sex in the pool' scene. Not that I liked it, but because it's so over the top and physically impossible that it's unintentionally hilarious! So if you want to watch this movie, I suggest fast forwarding an hour, watch the sex in the pool, then turn it off because it really doesn't get any better from there. I watched all of it, and as soon as the credits came on, my husband and I said at the same time "Thank God!". I'll never watch this movie again.

That is the only way I can describe the viewing experience of this movie.Probably the only movie on IMDb where as a rating I wish instead of a number out of ten I could just give it ????????Honestly... I recommend watching it. As a somewhat connoisseur of bad movies... I've never seen a movie that's bad in the way Showgirls is bad. It's baffling. And I feel like I need to view it at least 5 more times to even start to understand everything in this movie. And not because it's complex on purpose.

I don't mind a movie tackling stripping, stripping is a pretty big deal in the U.S., it shouldn't be labeled as not worthy of adaptation. BUT, Showgirls is the most empty, cheesy, shallow and cliché movie I ever got to witness. And that statement has a strong meaning. The dialogue is awful, the acting is unbearable, the actors end up forcing you to hate them, their facial expressions infuriated me because these actors have absolutely no respect for seriousness, that is required in a big budget movie. Then, the sex, where is it ? I didn't see any. All there is, a is a clip of a sex scene in a pool where the girl's back hits the water which has to be the most laughable sex scene of all time. No, if you're thinking you're getting a highly-exciting nude content, you'll be disappointed. These actors don't even try to make an effort.
