Sexy Evil Genius Trailers

A dark comedy about an eclectic group of strangers invited to a downtown bar by a mutual ex-lover, Nikki Franklyn, a maddeningly sexy, unpredictable and possibly insane young woman who's recently gotten out of prison for murdering her last ex-boyfriend. The party really gets started when Nikki herself arrives, hauling her latest lover and fiancee, the morally challenged lawyer who'd been handling her case. She's mysterious about her intentions and her current and former lovers soon realize they are all caught in one of her brilliant, mischievous mind-games with possible deadly consequences. By the night's end, revenge will be had, new romance will bloom, and Nikki will have delivered on her reputation as the Sexy Evil Genius.

This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

A group of guys are drawn to the same bar in downtown Los Angeles by an ex-girlfriend (Katee Sackhoff) they all have in common.I have to say my least favorite Buffy actor (Seth Green) is canceled out by my favorite one (Michelle Trachtenberg). Green is as obnoxious and terrible as ever, while Trachtenberg is performing on top of her game. Round it out with Billy Baldwin and Harold Perrineau ("Lost") and this is a solid cast of characters. This film is awesome to repeatedly reference My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, one of the greatest (overlooked) bands of the 1980s and 90s. And then actually playing it... wow. Never thought I would see that outside of a movie from Gregg Araki. (I do resent it being called "bubblegum", though.) A great first feature from director Shawn Piller, who had already made his name in television with "Dead Zone" and "Haven". Writer Scott Lew is also a "Dead Zone" alumnus. I look forward to their future endeavors.

This is a great movie. And as film, comics or any media writers/creators will tell you, the hardest scene is a couple of people sitting around a room or a table talking and keeping it interesting. This movie does just that in spades. And it's vastly entertaining. That's my point. If you understand that the practice of making that, people talking for the length of a movie, is the hardest thing to make entertaining, then just know I was fully entertained by this film. The script is brilliant and so is the directing. But take it from this guy; I don't like action movies if there's no point other than to just watch pretty explosions. I need substance. I need a story. And this has story and humor and a fantastic build up for the end result as well as great character analysis-I hate the main character until his character starts to open up. I hate the female lead until...well...see; I can't spoil that part. You just have to watch it for yourself. People who don't like this sort of movie, this "12 angry men" style of movie, just aren't going to like this film. There's no point in berating it if you aren't into fun, thriller, character driven films. If you're into great dialog, wonderful acting, suspense, "whodunits", Buffy the Vampire Slayer, movies about old friends, movies about old enemies, movies about people with layers, then this movie is for you.

What a fun movie to watch and try to figure out what is about to happen! The entire setting (until the very end) takes place at one table and 'the ladies room' in one bar. The characters are distinct and the conversation is clever and at times mysterious. Just what is Nikki up to?? You will have to see this movie if your are curious. Each actor gives a power performance and their interaction will keep you watching. I do not want to offer up any of the plot line because when I watched this movie I had no idea what it was about. It's one of those flicks (in my opinion) that makes you feel like saying - "That was good" at the end. What you think one moment about Nikki will change numerous times during the story! I only gave 9 stars because I found the ending a bit hollow.

Everyone in this film does a credible job and the story line works for me too. Katee Sackoff is a seriously under rated actress and she totally had me going in this film. I loved her in B.G., I love her in Longmire and am looking forward to her role in the new Riddick film. Trachtenberg never looked hotter and acquitted herself well in her role. Baldwin knocked it out of the park. The pacing of the film could have used a bit of work. There were some times in the middle where I just wished they would get on with it but other than that, I was pretty darn satisfied with this film and am glad I watched it. This film is about dialog ala My Dinner With Andre or The Man From Earth. If you need action to enjoy a film, look elsewhere.
