In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Reviewed by: Dare Devil Kid (DDK)Rating: 3.4/5 starsA creepy amusement park. A spooky witch. Crowds of innocent people fleeing in terror. This looks like a job for the greatest crime solvers in history...KISS? That's right, Scooby (voice of Frank Welker) and the rest of the Mystery Machine gang take a back seat while the famous rock band investigates haunted happenings at their own theme park. But when this case proves to be too much for even Gene Simmons (a.k.a. The Demon), Paul Stanley (a.k.a. The Starchild), and the rest of their band to handle, you can bet that the hungry hound and his pals will be there to help give evil the heave-ho."Scooby-Doo! and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery" carries on the celebrity crossover tradition that's had our canine crime-buster run into Batman and the Harlem Globetrotters in previous years. That the powers that be waited so long to bring about this team-up is no less weird than the pairing itself, but the flick brings a self-aware silliness to the table that excuses many of its more far-fetched moments. As a matter of fact, with all of the references to their songs scattered about along with a dig on their own brand-merchandising gimmicks down the years, and the soundtrack blasting said tunes constantly, KISS fans are liable to get as much enjoyment out of this movie as would Scooby fans, if not a bit more. Unfortunately, this is also sort of a problem, for while the rocking music and psychedelic animation are great, the presence of Scooby and the gang ends up downplayed as a result. There really isn't much of an investigation towards unfolding the mystery, which is a downer as along with all the madcap chase sequences, goofy fun, and witty humor the Mystery Machine gang has always been synonymous with unearthing good, old-fashioned, interesting mysteries; sort of living up to their moniker. This time they just assist KISS in chasing the easily-identifiable villain around before a rather unceremonious unmasking at the end. Still, "Scooby- Doo! and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery" is about on par with most of the eponymous pooch's escapades even though it doesn't scale the heights of some of the gang's superior outings (like last year's "Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery" for instance); it's really simple and zany, but it's a harmless and genuinely funny little ditty all the same, and scores extra points for providing pure nostalgia to KISS and Scooby- Doo fans alike.

I *loved* kiss. Once.Anyone old enough to remember them in the 80s? going to one of their concerts back then was still amazing, but not because of the show and the music any longer, it was because of the audience.after licensing their image for anything that made them money, from comics to toys (a practice that still persists, only these days few care about kiss anymore), you'd go to a concert and you'd see children as young as 3 made up like one of the band, on the shoulders of their parents (also made up, and generally as peter criss/the cat), and the punchline of the joke was that a great many of these parents did not generally like either the band or the music outside of a couple of tracks.it was their kids, that playing with kiss toys, reading kiss comics and buying into their stage personalities, became "fans" of the band.seriously, i lived it, but you can look it up.this was the very reason for the beginning of their decline, which then forced them to abandon the make up in an attempt to reverse the trend and return to their serious rock band days; which at that point didn't work, because by that time their mind set had switched from musical excellence to commercialism, so they lost that spark that made them special in the 70s.things like the kiss casket, the kiss condoms, the terrible commercial lectures of ... some of the less wise members of the band, the return to the times of makeup, the GODAWFUL movies, either with the whole band or just with Simmons, and now, in the 2010s even after recognizing what a mistake they were, we're back to that. absolutely anything to make a cent regardless of its wisdom, quality, value or lack of it; it's disappointing in the extreme, also ridiculous and sad.they were an unstoppable musical juggernaut with one of the best live shows ever, these days they might as well change the name to "MISS", not to mention the harsher alternative.seriously avoid.

As a huge Scooby Doo fan, Scooby Doo! And KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery may not be one of the best of the Scooby Doo films in the way Witch's Ghost, Zombie Island, Big Top, Mask of the Blue Falcon and Goblin King are, but it is hardly a lesser effort (Monster of Mexico is my personal least favourite) and is definitely worth a watch. The animation is great, some of the most imaginative and funky of any Scooby Doo film. Everything is beautifully drawn and meticulously detailed, with rich, atmospheric colours and a lot of care and time clearly went into how the characters were drawn and move. Even better, and perhaps the best thing about the film, is the terrific rock and roll soundtrack filled with a mix of KISS' biggest hits and songs every bit as catchy, KISS fans will be in KISS heaven almost certainly.Scooby Doo! And KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery is a smartly written and funny film as well, with some endearing goofy slapstick and jokes, great inside jokes with KISS and witty digs at Fred's taste in music and commercialism in the business. The story is always diverting, love the over-the-top strangeness of the KISS scenes and it didn't feel too much of a KISS rock video and while the ending did feel rushed, not quite explained enough and the identity of the villain a little obvious the mystery is fun and suspenseful. The characters all engage, Scooby and the gang are true to personality, fun to watch and have an easy-going chemistry, Velma is more likable than she has been in some of the more recent outings and Shaggy and Scooby's friendship is charming as always. KISS are great additions and have really interesting personalities, while the villain is an appropriately spooky one. The voice work is very good, the Scooby Doo regulars (especially Matthew Lillard) are spot on and KISS are a very pleasant surprise and sound more than comfortable in their as themselves roles. All in all, not Scooby Doo at his best, but Scooby Doo! And KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery is never less than a rocking good time, and at its best it's an absolute blast. 8/10 Bethany Cox

We've all grown up with these characters and it's always nice to see them meet celebrities here and then sometimes. This time we have the gang side by side by the largely successful and now iconic rock band ''KISS'' Against a new villain. The animation is truly beautifully done with this one while it even references the original first season in it's style sometimes. The only real downfall i have to say is that this might not strike as glamorous to non-Kiss fans yet still worth checking out if you'd like a nice comeback of the Scooby-Doo gang because the characters are all spot on just like you remember them. Very surprised with the voice acting by all the Kiss band members as they all did what they had to in the best way possible. Closing up this is most certainly a MUST WATCH for kiss fans as the references to certain things are not only very clever but also to the point that makes you think of how great an actually kiss movie in this universe could actually be. If you are a kiss fan you are in for many surprises that will make you both a proud and excited kiss fan. Give it a Watch!
