Reviews
TrueHello

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

a beautiful film. it is the most easy definition. maybe, the precise one. because , like each story of faith, it is just a confession. about the sacrifice and love and meaning of life and generosity. and the only detail who did the difference by many other religious films is the lead actress who not gives only the admirable image of of a Romano - Catholic popular saint but the portrait of Medieval woman. a film about a mother and her choices. about vocation and about the delicacy of miracles. beautiful. maybe touching. and useful. for discover the embroidery of emotion. for to be part of a seductive story. for admire a good script and a director who saw to explore each nuance.

La Profe de Historia 1ro A y B

Outstanding movie located in medieval Italy. The acting is superb and the scenario for the movie is phenomenal. I have watched it three times and I always get something from it. You can see it to enlighten yourself about a time where "vendetta" was a way of living and where the pest was difficult to overcome. Or, you can watch it to inspire yourself about a woman that against all odds was able to keep her faith and forgive others walking as a peace maker and therefore a "friend" of God. All of us have, at a moment or another, someone to forgive, and this movie will motivate you to be a peacemaker. The acting of both Vittoria Belvedere and Lina Sastri, is excellent, and their dialogues very profound. Male actors are also impeccable, portraying very believable passionate Italians.

Rita da Cascia is a TV Movie starring Vittoria Belvedere as St.Rita of Cascia and Martin Crewes as Paolo Mancini together with Simone Ascani,Enzo Marino Bellanich,Massimiliano Benvenuto,Giorgia Bongianni and Sandro Giordano. The story is about Rita Lotti - a woman with full of conviction and conservative catholic values imparted to her by her parents. It was directed by Giorgio Capitani.Vittoria Belvedere shines in her portrayal as Saint Rita. The movie was so convincing that you can actually understand the suffering of a wife and a mother in the midst of prevailing worldly concept during her time that even Catholic Priests doesn't share her principle in life of non- violence and peace.Aside from her portrayal, special mention should also be given to Giorgio Capitani for his direction of the TV movie that he did not fall into the trap of turning the movie into a soap opera but a religious experience about having faith in God amidst trials and tribulations in life.Overall,Rita da Cascia, spoken in both English and Italian,is highly recommended for people that are looking for a story about the willingness to change and the power of prayer in softening the hardest of hearts of others.

The image of Vittoria Belvedere and his acting is beautiful pledge for the ambiguous beauty of Roman-Catholic saints.A beautiful beyond words or miracles. A physical beauty, in many cases but, in essence, chain of nuances, from sweet face in tension of Blessed Elisabeth of the Trinity to severe resignation of Saint Theresia Benedikta of the Cross, from huge calm glance of Saint Gemma Galgani to mildness of Mother Teresa, from bread-face of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and Holy Face to the eyes of Blessed Maria Restituta Kafka beyond the execution.Like any religious work, it is story about relation with God. Like every Italian religious film, it is story about personal relation with life who, grace of subtle signs, is base of God's love. And when the central character is a saint with a strong fame in Italy, Latin America,an incorruptible saint and spiritual mother of many families, witness of wonderful miracles and victim of hard times, ideal wife, mother and nun, it is enough for ignore the artistic value of movie in favor of his spiritual message.
