RUSH: Time Machine Trailers

Rush's Time Machine shows in 2010 / 2011 were one of the most anticipated tours ever. Celebrating 30 years since the 1981 release of their classic bestselling album Moving Pictures the band performed the entire album live for the first time as the centrepiece of the concerts. The shows also featured favourite tracks from across their lengthy career and two new songs expected to feature on their next studio album.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

No one can make the argument that a concert DVD will replace a live show. But for a guy that missed the Time Machine Tour (there are still forehead dents in the wall), this'll do. This is high-energy, to say the very least, and does a bang-up job capturing the crowd during that night in Cleveland. The setlist is appropriate for such a tour, there's something from (I'm pretty sure) every single album. Even "Presto". And it's notable for the band's playing "Moving Pictures" from start to finish. I'm a huge fan, so I hope they're still going. Age is always a question, so if this was their final tour, then this concert was one hell of a sendoff. But even so, this is two-and-a-half hours of virtuoso musicianship. A lot of socks were rocked off that night.10/10

What do you get if you put three virtuoso musicians in an arena with thousands of adoring fans, a back catalogue longer than your arm, a superb lightshow and cracking back projections and Lord alone knows how many cameras? Well - this. Some people may not like a band that strive for perfection on stage, but for me this DVD is a great reminder of a fantastic gig I saw here in England. The boys are on top of their game, and include plenty of humour in the show. There's a fine mix of new material with (of course) loads of old favourites. If you're a Rush fan, you probably have this already, or are going to get it soon. If you're not, and want to see how a gig should be done properly, then go for it! You won't be disappointed........

The Band, Rush are serious rockers that don't take themselves too serious. RUSH Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland is the ultimate musical trip through time. From my youth of listening to Moving Pictures in my best friend's 1974 maroon Chevy Nova through my aging silver hair days of Snakes and Arrows, Rush delivers the best that Rock and Roll has to offer. Alex, Geddy and Neil deliver a shockingly energetic, riveting performance backed by an equally enthusiastic audience from Cleveland, OH. The naysayers will try to convince you these guys are washed up, but don't beLIEve the hype. Engage the HDTV, ramp up the surround sound and pour yourself a cold beer and enjoy 2+ hours of one of the most riveting Rock and Roll performances of this decade.
