RoboCop 2 Trailers

After a successful deployment of the RoboCop Law Enforcement unit, OCP sees its goal of urban pacification come closer and closer, but as this develops, a new narcotic known as "Nuke" invades the streets led by God-delirious leader Cane. As this menace grows, it may prove to be too much for Murphy to handle. OCP tries to replicate the success of the first unit, but ends up with failed prototypes with suicidal issues... until Dr. Faxx, a scientist straying away from OCP's path, uses Cane as the new subject for the RoboCop 2 project, a living God.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

This movie is really good just as good as the 1st one. The action is improved from the previous movie and the plot is crazy but fun. I really like how Murphy spies on his wife and then she comes to visit him in the police department, that scene is really touching. This movie has everything a bit of comedy, a lot of action, drugs and a crazy plot with a crazy villain. Yes the second installment is different and it tries to be different, which makes the movie in my opinion really good.

Despite having a bad reputation, ROBOCOP 2 turns out to be above average. A flawed gem, perhaps, as one rather large problem with this film is the lack of fresh ideas which made the original film so entertaining. Indeed, many of the action sequences are simply repeated from the first film, and changed slightly so we hopefully don't spot the similarity. For instance: Robocop smashes a man's head repeatedly into an arcade machine (in the original, he smashed Kurtwood Smith's head through numerous windows); Robocop cleverly kills a man holding a baby in front of him (in the original, he shot a man holding a woman hostage in the groin). The acting is worse than in the original. To be fair, special effects have always overwhelmed the actors in this particular film series, but it's difficult to take many of the supporting cast seriously as they look as if they're about to burst into laughter at any minute. Peter Weller is as good as ever, although he doesn't undergo as much anguish or torment as he did in the first film. Nancy Allen is used sparingly, indeed she hardly makes an impression and was obviously tiring of the series by now. Tom Noonan makes an effective psychotic, although he's difficult to take seriously too. I could have done without the scene of the dying boy; we're supposed to feel sorry for him after he's mutilated Robo and tried to garrote Allen? I think not.A lot of people dislike this film because of the excessive violence and downbeat nature, but for me, it's the main saving grace. It's true, a lot of people die needlessly, gunned down in cold blood. Robocop is even tortured and has his limbs cut off in a disused warehouse, although this isn't as powerful as his original death in the first film. The gore is plentiful, although not as varied as in the first film: it mostly consists of people being shot, their chests exploding in red bursts. These depressing moments are countered by some interesting ideas; namely, the sub-plot involving Robocop being reprogrammed by his makers which induces some laughter; and the whole idea of the 'nuke' drug. I'm glad that the fake news bulletins stayed in too, as these were highlights of the first film and they're just as funny here.A big plus in the film's favour is the quality of the special effects work involved. In particular, the stop motion animation is wonderful, and used a lot in the film's finale where Robocop battles Robocop 2 in a fight to the death. The standard of the animation is particularly good, even beating ED-209 in the original, in fact. Watch out for a spooky bit where a malfunctioning cyborg rips its helmet off to reveal a screaming skull underneath - disturbing or what? The film is also worth sitting through for the twenty minute finale, a huge battle sequence in which hundreds of people are shot, loads of cars explode and the two cyborgs rip each other apart. It's certainly showstopping, but bittersweet too for fans of the series; this was where the quality ended.

Cyborg law enforcer RoboCop protects the citizens of Detroit by taking on a powerful drug syndicate, while a renegade OCP executive tries to create a new, superior RoboCop using a crime lord as its subject. I know a lot of people that like Robocop 2 and i'm OK with that it's your opinion that's good but i have seen videos of people saying that Robocop II is better than the remake but they have also rated it higher than movies such as BVS, Terminator 3 and Terminator Genisys. Let me start with the good things the cast is great you have Peter Weller back as Murphy and Nancy Allen as Lewis the Old man also returns and turns out to be the villain, the suit of Robocop is blue instead of grey which is fine and the soundtrack is different which is pretty fine too the movie came out on 1990 and it was directed by Irvin Kershner who directed Empire Strikes Back the best Star Wars movie and Never Say Never Again starring Sean Connery as James Bond and that is what makes me wonder why this film is in the same league as Batman Forever and Iron Man 2 movies that they were alright but overall disappointing. RoboCop 2 has one of the worst humor i have ever found in a movie he basically turns all sunshine and rainbows and he says stupid lines as "Good Morning" and he shoots a guy because he was smoking without killing him of course then every child in this film is either mean or a gangster which brings me to the worst part of the film which is the child that is annoying and when it dies we need to feel bad about it, Hob and Angie are probably the 2 most annoying characters from the film besides the dumb humor and the over the top action like Murphy riding a motorcycle or even the crazy amount of stop motion that makes the film look even worse. The acting isn't that bad or even the direction is just that the film tries to be more funny and satirical than the Original and it fails in every sense of the way cause the first movie was directed by Paul Verhoven which also directed Total Recall that same year and it was way better than this film. Robocop 2 is not as bad as some people make it out to be it's just that it feels so long and has so many plot devices in it that it feels like you're watching 2 movies at 1 and it's boring especially when it tries to mix the humor and the action but it's not a bad movie it's not a great one either but it's a watchable disappointing sequel and i feel that if you cut the moments with the TV ads and the humor and make it a little bit like let's say Batman Returns it would be amazing. Plus James Cameron directed Terminator 2 one year after this film also featuring a little punk kid and wasn't as violent as this kid was in Robocop 2 sure he was annoying but at least you could feel something about John instead of Hob i'm going to give RoboCop 2 a 7.5 out of 10 and a B-

After my initial disappointment that Anne (Nancy Allen) didn't become Robobabe straight away, since she was so severely shot up at the end of part one, I decided to hope for that to happen later on (no, it didn't) and move on. So, then, 'Robocop 2' seemed to become a lesser version of its predecessor; less impressive villains, less impressive action and a lot of bad one-liners from Robocop himself (not that part one had such great one-liners - not at all, really). But things stayed interesting here and there, and Tom Noonan was a pretty good choice as the new main baddie. And then came more and more terrific ideas: about the cops taking over the city with a cunning financial plan, about a kid who thinks he is the next Scarface, about Robocop (the original) descending into an identity crisis by an overload of rules, about a load of baseball kids (led by their coach!) looting a store, about Dr. Faxx exacting a devious plan to use villains for cops and keeping them in control through drugs, about a fresh young black mayor who decides to get his money from anyone just to stay in power... etc., etc. (it gets a little too obvious in the end with the Nazi flag and the Gestapo outfits, though, ha ha). Yes, 'Robocop 2' has a lot to offer, if you'll keep in mind that it's a sort of exploitation flick with a big budget (looks like it - I haven't checked) - and a very creative one.The creative cherry on top here is the loads of stop-motion scenes with Robocop 1 fighting Robocop 2, which actually don't come in until a lot later. There's some short bits of other Robocop stop-motion bits earlier on, which are good fun as well. It's hard to decide if this one is better or just as good as the first one, but both get a big 7 out of 10 for now.
