In every way, this seemed like a ripoff of "Twilight". I actually will admit I do kind of like this twist that appears at the end, but it's still a terrible movie. It's mostly because it takes a classic story and puts all these ridiculous elements in it. We get this stupid love triangle that doesn't seem to really amount to anything. There's at least some references to the original story. The plot is that this village that sacrifices to a werewolf is now being attacked by it. I'm probably being kind to this movie only because I saw that horrendous "Daddy Day Camp" and really anything would be better than that. At least this movie didn't cover itself in bodily fluids. It's still boring and poorly acted and obviously just made to cash in on the success of "Twilight". I think Leonard Maltin said it best when he said it answered questions about Little Red Riding Hood that no one wanted to have answered. It's just another dumb pointless romantic movie with laughable romance. *1/2

Red Riding Hood is not an art-house film, that's for sure. In this movie, the story of Red Riding Hood is transformed in a romance and whodunit movie with the level of a Twilight movie. The screenplay is very bad, and actors like Gary Oldman en Julie Christie don't have a moment to shine. They have some charisma, something you can't say about the other actors.Movies like Maleficient or Snow White and the Huntsmen are even better. Although no Citizen Kane either, but visually more interesting and better actors.
... View MoreNow I admit that I don't mind bad movies sometimes. I have enjoyed many cheesy slasher sequels, and I didn't even mind the village. As a movie lover it is rare for me to turn a movie off before the end, out of hope for finding a redeeming point. I couldn't make it through this movie, I even tried again a couple years later with the same result. I've read many reviews with twilight comparisons but honestly you're better off watching twilight. At least you know what to expect from that and it doesn't try to sell itself as something it's not. A dark retelling of a classic Grimm fairytale this is not. Bugs bunny did the fairytale more justice than this movie came close to. I'll spare you the details of everything this movie does wrong, just please spare yourself the torture of watching it.
... View MoreRight,so I saw this abomination last year.I didn't think very much of it until I saw it again last week.It was then ,that I realized :It's terrible. It's like someone hired a seventeen year old girl and said 'write me a Twilight fan fiction and I'll turn it into a movie'. Honestly , I think that's what actually happened. I'm not saying that this is as bad as bad as Batman and Robin, but too be honest its not too far off it. The one thing I really hate about this movie is that it is so unoriginal. It's like Cluedo and Twilight had a baby that grew up and started wearing a big red cape on its back. I mean seriously:A girl who lives in a small ,very isolated town and has absolutely nothing special about her is caught in the middle of a love-triangle, and she is willing to run away from this so called 'European' town where everybody except Gary Oldman has an American accent, just to be with on e a these guys.Oh yeah and there's a werewolf involved .Sound familiar? As far as visual effects go, its pretty good. Acting was overall up to the standards of tired toddlers . But I must admit, there are some very clever twists and turns that you probably won't see coming. Overall, this movie was pretty rubbish.Unless your a Twilight fan girl. Then its probably the best movie you've ever seen. I hope for the sake of your sanity, that it's not.
