Really Surprised!
... View MoreOne of my all time favorites.
... View MoreThis is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
... View MoreOne of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
... View MoreWorst, sequel, ever. Sure sequels to most movies are bad, but this just HORRIBLE. I wish I never watch it in the first place, killed the original movie for me. What makes me furious is that Pocahontas went with the new guy! No cute moments, no chemistry between them, no nothing! What happened to the we'll be together forever promise with the original John? I hate my decision to watch this. Beware, this movie will kill your childhood.
... View MorePocahontas II was produced by Leslie Hough and was released on August 4, 1998. Directed by Tom Ellery and Bradley Raymond. In the film, Gov. Ratclliffe lies and persuades the King to declare war on the Powhatan. John Smith was framed to be the traitor and was proclaimed dead after confronting Ratclffe. He later reveals himself to be alive and wants Pocahontas to escape and hide with him while Rolfe still wants to stop the war. This emphasizes a clear love triangle.Though the sequel uses the same type of art style as the previous movie, the animation didn't match up quite as well. The musical numbers were, let's just say, "not as memorable." The characters had no depth to them and the way they were portrayed honestly seemed to disrespect the original movie. I would like to note that John Smith was a total **** here and I couldn't recognize his previous character to this one.The theme overall was hard to follow but I guess it was to follow your heart and don't let the past stop you from what you really want. In the film, Pocahontas chooses John Rolfe over John Smith despite their history together.Overall I think this movie was made with no effort and was "slapped on". I regret watching it because it felt like this spit at the legend the original Pocahontas left behind. I give it 3/10 and frankly, I think that's too generous.
... View MoreFirst off, let me say that when I was very little, I used to love this sequel as well as Pocahontas 1 when I used to watch them both very often on VCR. I also used to know all of the words to "Where do I go from here" when I was in Elementary School, and sometimes I would even sing that and "Colors of the Wind" to myself. But I am in college now, and what do I think of this movie today? This is SO AWFUL! Pretend this movie doesn't exist, and erase it from your memory unless you like to look back to your childhood. I would also like to say how this movie and the first have some accurate historical elements to them, but I don't like how a lot of things about this horrible direct-to-video sequel are INACCURATE to the real life Pocahontas, who in fact, DID travel to London and marry John Rolfe. In this film, I didn't like John Rolfe's personality much, and I thought Disney should have made this movie even more inaccurate by having Pocahontas end up with John SMITH instead of ROLFE. Skip this atrocious sequel, watch the first movie if you have a sibling or a parent who likes that movie, and otherwise, watch a documentary from PBS or the History Channel that explains the actual Pocahontas.
... View MoreThe last time i watched this movie was 10 years ago. Im 17 now and still a huge Disney fan.Yesterday i watched the first Pocahontas on HBO and naturally fell in love with it. So I decided to watch the second one today assuming it was just as good.God. Worst mistake of my life.It was undoubtedly horrible.Nevermind the fact she doesn't end up with John Smith but the fact that all John Smith said was 'okay' when he found out she does not love him anymore. I would 'unwatch' it if i could. Worst Disney sequel made. If you are watching the first followed by the second as I did my heart cries for you, I still can't wrap my finger around the fact the first one was really good followed by this crap.I shall stop here and proceed by crawling into a corner and to stuff my face with ice cream all day. I rest my case.
