Pathfinders: In the Company of Strangers Trailers

Untold and lost history. A true story of the American Pathfinders, the volunteer paratroopers whose deadly mission was to land 30 minutes before the Normandy invasion, locate and mark strategic "drop zones" and set up the top-secret navigation equipment needed to guide the main airborne assault on D-Day.

A brilliant film that helped define a genre

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

I'm totally amazed by the reviewers that gave this movie more than a "1". Bad acting, bad dialog, unrealistic combat scenes and everything else already mentioned by the other reviewers. I rarely write reviews, but this one forced me to do one. The WWII Pathfinders were critical to the D-Day invasion, but this movie is SO bad, it should have never been made. Hopefully some one will do their story justice in a future movie.

I knew i was in for something special when a couple of minutes into the movie as they were still adding credits, i saw "Assoicate Producer".... Surely the computer was not so old as to not have a spell check. I"m going to be a sort of devil's advocate here perhaps and say that they did a pretty good job considering the supposed budget and such. Why, perhaps i could say that the acting and such is actually great, as it is as lame and awkward as real life...so, kinda realistic. Kinda... At least they managed to scare up a couple of C-47s and MG-42s. I rented this from Redbox and wish i had read the reviews first..but, since i like to watch MST3K movies sometimes, this fits in that type of genre.I don't know what i can add that has not been stated, accurately, in earlier reviews. Umm...the blue flowers the lady was watering when the plane took off were rather pretty.

Upon reading the initial review prior to rental, I thought this movie would be as good as "Band of Brothers" fame. This movie was disappointing folks. I tried to stay the course and allow some time for the plot to thicken; unfortunately, this movie offers not one iota of redeeming value to a fan of WWII movies or cinema in general. Criticizing the talent(acting) and production as a whole is too easy. In case you want to take a risk for yourself, I highly recommend you rent this movie and watch it without company as they will question why you went out of your way to rent this movie in the first place. Allow me the opportunity to suggest you watch "Saving Private Ryan" or "War Horse" as superior alternatives...~NY

Watch world, the character of the American soldier as portrayed nowadays by Hollywood! Bring back the Bronsons (Charles), the Mitchams (Robert), Marvins (Lee)),Douglasses (Kirk),Waynes (JOHN) R E A L TOUGH M E N like those who invaded Germany and destroyed Nazism. I was in the military and these fruits don't stand a chance on a Sunaday evening as soldiers stateside, let alone paratrooping into NAZI Germany.Hollywood what happened to the rolemodels we were looking up to as boys to grow up and become like? What would the rest of the world think about the all American soldier today? You wanna make a war movie? Recruit from the military, nothing better than the real thing compared to this Hillywood disaster.Enemies of America, rest assure the American soldier does not look nothing like these buttercups (at best), others called it a bluff and lost the bet. Don't believe the Hollywood hype.By the way who made it a rule that if you are using capitals you are "shouting," and not "EMPASIZING." A MORON most likely.
