It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

After watching the first, I was truly surprised to see they had made not one but two sequels. I'm a lover of suspense, thrillers and horror so I had to check it out. The first one wasn't a favorite of mine. This one, in my opinion, was much better than the first. I've seen several reviews saying it is unreal, the characters are stupid because their attempts of reboarding are all failures and a drag but what did you think you were going to be watching? The whole plot revolves around their long struggle and failed attempts to get back on the boat. They were going to be drifting for a majority of the movie. This isn't a big budget movie but it has a touch of polish to it. The acting was not exceptional but it was fair. The story and how the characters were involved with one another was decent too.It was an average movie but I gave it an extra star just because I thought it was such an improvement from the first one.

Not a bad movie. I can see why some people got a bit frustrated by it, but having read some of the reasons for this, I think they've jumped the gun (or shark?). You have to use a bit of common sense and realise that they really did have quite few options, and these were exhausted - despite other reviewers claims! This film does build decent suspense. The whole out-at-sea/at the mercy of Mother Nature device works in its favour. The characters are somewhat relatable so we want them to survive and any struggle or near-miss that comes their way kicks us in the teeth too.My main criticism is with regard to the ending. To me it was a bit of a cop out, and I feel the audience deserved a bit more clarity. It was just too vague and the Internet is awash with strong criticism to this effect. The ending aside, it wasn't a bad way to spend an hour and a half or so on a lazy, cold Autumn Sunday evening.

I can't understand why there are so many negative comments about this movie.Wanting to watch a decent shark movie, I scrolled through Netflix and Amazon until I found Open Water and decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed it and immediately started its sequel, Open Water 2: Adrift. I expected this one to be hopefully entertaining at least, if not as good as the first. I was wrong!I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that this movie was actually a thought- provoking and terrifying drama. I was on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. I found myself bored a lot during Open Water, but this sequel was so much more fast-paced and, to a certain extent, unpredictable.Even though I usually root against the protagonists in these types of movies (horrible, I know), but I really found myself caring about the characters in this one. Sure, some of them did stupid things (that's life though, isn't it?), but I found the character portrayals very believable. The acting was actually very good. I identified with Susan May Pratt's character almost immediately, as I have a phobia of water as well. It was so interesting to watch each character's personality traits as they interacted and clashed with one another during the events of the movie.I was so shocked at all of the bad reviews for this movie that I had to make an account on IMDb just to write my own review. No it's not perfect, but it definitely deserves a lot more credit than some people are giving it! Keep an open mind, suspend your disbelief just a tad, and you may just enjoy this one. Just be aware that you may not want to watch it before a boat outing...

I just open water few days ago, I didn't think all that great at all. If you think open water had no plot , then this movies actually as not plot to story. A least open water had sharks in the movies, I did expect to sharks in this movie. We just see bunch good looking in mid 20 or early 30, who get stuck in water. That is actually plot and I just could not care about anyone in this movie, I just found them very annoying 2 out of 10
