... View MoreI'm an American, and have not seen very many Bollywood films -- Three Idiots, Saariwaya, and one or two others in passing -- but I know a spoof when I see it. This movie was a romp -- overdone theatrics, over-the-top musical numbers, and lots of wink-wink-nudge-nudge allusions. Actually, I probably missed most of those -- but I got enough of them to keep smiling all the way through. Nicely plotted, plenty of really good catch-lines, and warm-hearted at the core. I especially like the end credits, where crew members and the usually faceless support people did a kind of 'red carpet' appearance, to the applause and cheers of the mob. Great bit at the very end, where the director/writer got out of the tuk-tuk for her moment, and everybody was .... well, no spoilers here. Just watch the film. Well worth your time.

... View MoreAs a relative newcomer to the Hindi film scene, I probably haven't seen the best that Bollywood has to offer yet, I'm working on it though. However, I have seen enough to know that on a purely entertainment level, Om Shant Om works. The music is catchy and the dance sequences are fun and upbeat. Granted the reincarnation theme is a bit hard to accept for the westerner, but hey, most movie themes are hard to truly accept anyway. (Terminator anyone?) You go to the movie to escape from your hum drum life and be entertained, to enter a dream world that you can never live in. You don't expect true to life do you? That's not very entertaining, and if that's what you want, well then read the newspaper or watch the news. Yes the script could have been tighter, some of the acting could have been a bit less hammy, but overall, a very watchable film, even for a westerner. Probably not the best of Bollywood or even Hollywood for that matter, but then again certainly not the worst either. All in all, a fun flick, lots of color, good music, hammy acting (yes that can be a plus) that just leaves you feeling good. The bad guy got his come-uppance and the boy got the girl. What more can you ask for?
... View Moreif i knew the plot i would have never seen it.....really guys............old Hindi movies were made like this.......only that they were better..............i don't like farah khan......but that ain't the reason i don't like this movie nut its because it wasn't directed well..........the second half start is stupidly done without any sayin that SRK has reincarnated???............OK now lets come to deepika.....she is beautiful......OK.......but what the.........she really didn't act well.................oh man i didn't know i would end short but u call the ending a twist .....it means u haven't seen other films...........................what really hurts is that OMO won that year awards i men how the hell could it be.............only i could think is because of shah rukh khan and him ONLY.
