It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
... View MoreThe movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
... View MoreThe film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
... View MoreThere are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

Boy was i wrong. The jokes are REALLY lame, it does parody some of the scenes from troy and 300 but it's mostly done with no taste and could have been done so much better.Ultimately if you are into the normal toilet humor and sex jokes then this will maybe entertain you. But even as a parody movie it totally blows. To think that they are the people who once made Animal House. It's a total disgrace how bad this is." really!?!? i love John Belushi too, but, animal house was like the worst...in fact he is the only reason I'd watch it..which is what brought me to this movie, Will Sasso, just an unbelievably funny guy in the right situation and this was it! Thank you National Lampoon, I laughed the whole time...I guess it's hit or miss.PS i don't watch a comedy, least of all a spoof, to wonder if I'm too old to laugh at jokes, i watch it to laugh...and i did
... View MoreNational Lampoon, "sword and sandal" movie. A parody mixture of 300, Gladiator and Troy to name a few while much better than Meet the Spartans it hasn't the original -in its own world setting - and is more spoof than comedy. Although packed with gags and crudeness it lacks the edge, wit and humorous balance of the likes of Your Highness. The leads including The Three Stooges (2012) Will Sasso and supporting cast are entertaining enough, rip Torn lights up the screen and lovely Kristanna Loken is a saving grace. With boobs, butts and lots of cursing teens will probably eat The Legend of Awesomest Maximus up. It's one of the better spoofs but by no means great.
... View MoreHailed as an instant classic by some sponsored posts here, this movie does not deliver. If you - like I did - had the Lampoon franchise in good memory, thinking of the Vacation and Christmas movies (the first ones always being better than than the later ones), this will disappoint.Production value: Most scenes are filmed on beaches and/or with lots of sky above. Acting is far below average. The humor is geared towards ten to thirteen year olds and it's far worse than the usual fare for that age group.Stay away if you want to be amused (and are not eleven). And, completing my ten lines here, I would not have written if this movie hadn't been so utterly disappointing.Watch 'Vacation' if you need to laugh.
... View MoreI can't wait for this film to finally see the light of day, or the light of a projector. This film is destined to become an instant cult classic. Although the film spoofs other films, it is not a collection of skits and gags like Meet the Spartans, which is garbage. The Legend of Awesomest Maximus actually has a well written script. Khary Patton and Ian Ziering steal the show. Patton as King Erotic will go down as one of the great comedy villains of all times It's right up there with Dr. Evil in Austin Powers. Ziering is hilarious as the narcissistic spoiled brat, Testiclees. Hopefully this film will be hitting the theaters and DVD shelves by late summer! Let's go National Lampoon let's get this gem to the people. What is taking so long!!!!
