Wow! Such a good movie.

That was an excellent one.

Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

One of the last great Daiei productions before the studio went bankrupt in 1971, Shinobi no shu sits among the very best of the 60's B&W shinobi-eiga. . Issei Mori (Kazuo Mori) directs with assured expertise this exciting action packed tale, an incredibly stylish multi faceted historical drama, weaving throughout supernatural and fantastical elements. The leader of a small band of spies is sent on a mission to uncover the mystery of 20 missing clan members, and further, to kidnap a beautiful noblewoman from deep within a heavily ninja-proofed castle. The mission is beset with challenging obstacles, it is dark, fatalistic shinobi cinema, Highly Entertaining Highly Recommended !!
