Excellent comedy/drama/action film. I have seen this film so many times since I was young. I like the three songs - Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum, Jumma Chumma De De and Batdance, it's so funny. I watched it again on freesat channel and youtube as well but there're some scenes are missing. I remember very well, I watched it on an original video (Apollo) and I also recorded it on channel 4 in 15 years ago, these scenes still there but sadly I lost it. Deleted Scenes1. Govinda's fake trophy. 2. Amitabh went to college to see Govinda's headteacher. 3. Extra song before ending credit - 'Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum'.

In late 80s AB's films started flopping, Few films worked like Aaj ka Arjun(1990), HUM too was a hit which released in 1991. Many people felt that Jhumma Chumma song made it a hit. The film was Mukul-Amitabh's second film after Agneepath. The film has Amitabh play like a dual role, In first half he is like a thug which normally AB played and second half a sober man who has changed and gets scared to get involved in fights, In a way Amitabh who was hitting 50 played his age for half the film.He played older roles many times before too in Mahaan, Aakhree Raasta, Adaalat, Indrajeet The first half starts off well however for some reason Mukul Anand made the villains Anupam and Annu Kapoor look like cartoons which makes you cringe, however the clash between AB and Danny is superb, the twist is superb too however the pace slows down in second half focusing on light moments and romance between Govinda and Shilpa which does keep the main story in the backseat and also there are outlandish scenes involving Captain Zatack but once AB comes to Bangalore and Deepa Sahi is kidnapped the pace picks up and till the end the film is superbDirection by MUKUL ANAND is good Music by LP is fab, be it Jhumma Chumma which was a rage though the picturisation is sort of crude, Sanam Mere Sanam by Amit Kumar is superb too, Kaagaz Kalam is nice, Ek Doosre Se too is fabAmitabh Bachchan excels in the role, in the first half he is like a rowdy though a bit too loud at times, but yet his drunk scene is fab as usual, but in the second half his mature act too is well handled by him, however the idea of showing him way his head around when he gets angry does look odd Kimi Katkar is loud, Rajnikant is good, Govinda is fab too Deepa Sahi is adequate, Shilpa Shirodkar is fair. Anupam Kher and Annu Kapoor annoy, though Anupam plays his part well yet his track irritates and he overacts at times Danny is fab in his role, Amongst rest Kader Khan is superb, Deepak Shirke and rest are okay.

Hum is a action, comedy, bits of romance, family out and out entertainer. Directed by the late Mukul Anand, this movie is great to watch. A multi starrer movie with big actors all in one to give a entertainer of a film. Amitabh Bachchan plays a angry young man turned quite good man and gives a good performance. Govinda plays the lovable brother and delivers a good performance. Rajnikhant delivers a fun to watch performance with his usual tricks with cigarettes. Kimi Katkar is annoying as usual, why was she cast against top actors. Shilpa Shirodkar is sexy at times and she is in one song. Danny was good as the villain, overall this is a fun film to watch.

It is very entertaining commercial fluff. Technically savvy, and stylishly directed with a multi-star cast. It is all held steady by an awe-inspiring Bachchan performance at the base. The pungent and electrifying introductory sequence leading up to and including the credits is wicked.
