Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

I just saw my dream summer... I wanted to see romantic view of summer for long, and not the one we get from the books and have to imagine by ourselves. As far as this guy, Daniel, I wish to spend summer like this with gorgeous girl. Of course, without drugs. "Hot Summer Nights" is beautiful movie for soul, not just in romantic way but in many ways. I am also guy, and after this film I wanted to cry. This movie is also strange. It is like a dream come true because Daniel didn't need to work hard or study after graduatin school, he just have been selling drugs. Not a secret that girls at some point want money from guys and this is a strange part of relationship. For Daniel, he succeed everything this summer perfectly. I am feeling envy for him. I had exams and have been trying to move to college for nearly two months of summer 2018. And only now, august I am feeling some relax but it's still reserved, at home somehow having nowhere to go. And Daniel just spends all summer so nicely with girl in such a beautiful small town, traveling even during nights. Well I am glad that at least I saw how wonderful summer would look like

Timothee Chalamet has become a face of Young Hollywood. Last year he was seen in "Lady Bird" and "Call Me By Your Name" (the latter received his first Oscar Bid). This year is his entrance to drug roles with this and "Beautiful Boy". The latter will likely be more critically acclaimed. This movie left me originally thinking "Yeah it was good" until I realized I was still thinking about it days later. I gave it another try and passed its initial viewing. It does have some story problems and pacing issues, but overall it's Stellar work from a newcomer

Great cast new and old, ending could've done with some fine tuning overall a fantastic coming of age movie. All 3 leads stand out as stars.

Hot Summer Nights is a very enjoyable film and an excellent directional debut for director Elijah Bynum. Timothée Chalamet did a superb job playing an awkward teenager who gets caught up in the wrong crowd. His mannerisms and subtle acting really show how talented he is. Supporting actors, including Maika Monroe and Alex Roe do an awesome job playing there parts and creating believable characters. The cinematography in this movie is flashy and eye-catching. The soundtrack is spectacular. The overall feel and aesthetic of this movie is very pleasing. The story is fairly simple, but the top-notch acting, cinematography, soundtrack, and overall talent in this film keep it from being forgettable. I highly recommend this film to anybody looking for a thrilling, entertaining, and fun ride.
