Good idea lost in the noise

... View MoreHonestly, this movie took my heart. It is kind of on-road movie, but all characters in the movie is doing a great job on their rolls. Of course, I guess, I don't needs to tell, if some character in some movie casted by AnnaSophia Robb, it is a brilliant movie. Even the movie has a worst plot, she gives life to it. I currently owns every movie of her, and this is one of the best. There are several scenes I really liked very much, but I don't want to giveaway spoilers about them right now. It is heartbreaking story and such a great creation, not to mention the music. Just brilliant. The main cover theme and 'It's Time to Go' tracks of the soundtrack just like my national anthems!. I am listening to it everyday and it never gets old. Finally, my rating for this great, great creation is 10/10. If I could rate it more than 10, I would do that. Nice work! Expecting more movies from these directors. Best regards!
... View More"Have Dreams, Will Travel" is quite a surprising movie, I wouldn't call it a great movie, but certainly it has some good things and the general feeling is quite special. The storyline is, at least, weird and hard to believe: a couple of 12 year old kids, one of them a parricide, being capable of traveling all alone through the USA is very improbable, but it's the behavior of most of the adults involved in the story that is even less realistic. The behavior of the two main characters is also quite surprising, and, may I say, contradictory: the unbelievable maturity of the two preteen when it comes to face their emotional problems and romance contrasts with such reckless actions like departing from home and the protection of adults, who, by the way, are themselves portrayed rather childish. The conclusion is that it's not a story about aging kids (and, definitely, not suitable for children) who follow their hormones in a crazy adventure, but about adults facing adult problems, but fit in children's bodies. But that, together with the dramatic darkness at the end, is what makes the special feeling. In the end, the film would have little good without the starring couple. While adult roles are well-performed, they are not challenging, and it's the talent of the young Caydon Bayd (as Ben) and AnnaSophia Robb (as Cassie) that shine and give deepness to the film. Being put in the challenge of playing adults, they show an extremely convincing acting, showing an understanding of different emotions much beyond expectations. AnnaSophia Robb is specially brilliant playing her very complex character, going through sweetness, anger and despair. Her dramatic power in some scenes is overwhelming.
... View MoreIt's one of those serendipitous moments in life when you stumble upon a work of genius. Such a moment happened to me today as this film found its way onto my screen. I had no expectations, no preconceptions, and no idea what to expect, and I have to say I was utterly blown away. This is one of those films that could never be simply described. An ultimately dark story of true companionship. Love definitely plays an essential part, but I think "Love story" gives the wrong impression. It is the adventure of two children, traveling through America and their childhood alike, dealing with an unfair handful or hurdles and hardships. The direction is impeccable, and allows the gifted young actors to excel to their full potential. Everything in this film is meticulously brilliant, and so refreshingly intelligent. It's unusual these days to find a film that doesn't patronize its audience. It is almost poetic in the way it gives as few words as possible. Some people may find this slow and boring, but these are people who fail to see between the lines, where the true story lies.A film both heartwarming and heart-wrenching that will sharpen your braincells, moisten your cheeks, and really make you think about yourself and the life you lead.
... View MoreA great movie. Have Dreams, Will Travel is a film that stars Cayden Boyd as Ben Reynolds, and Annasophia Robb as Cassie Kennington. Both kids set out to Baltimore to live with Cassie's aunt and uncle (Cassie and Ben are not related). They meet a lot of interesting characters and learn a lot about life. They even have a romance part in the story (they get married to each other very early in the movie). Ben wants to be a major league pitcher so you will see him throwing a baseball several times in the movie. The film is also funny at certain points, not like funny as hysterically hilarious, but funny as in Heh Heh. Like a serious funny. Its hard to explain but it has some pretty good humor. The film has a lot of romance between Cassie and Ben, but not too much. Annasophia performs outstandingly but sometimes it seems like she is not doing well. Cayden Boyd does a great job too.The movie while great has some flaws. One flaw is that the lighting in the dark rooms is horrendous. I can rarely see Ben and Cassie. In the trailer for this movie it seems like the lighting issue is not there, but it is. I hope the edit this for its US release. Another problem is the movie feels a bit short to me. I watched it on Youtube. It was separated into 8 parts. 7 parts are 10 minutes while the 8th part is 3 minutes. In fact two parts of the movie on Youtube at the end have at least the last quarter of it taken out or blocked, most likely these parts are on the DVD (Brazil only).Overall a great movie that deserves a release in the US. I hope they release it here and if they don't we should make a petition, or I could import the DVD from Brazil. It gets a 9 out of 10.
