Hancock is a down-and-out superhero who's forced to employ a PR expert to help repair his image when the public grows weary of all the damage he's inflicted during his lifesaving heroics. All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Hancock the title of the feature film that here is being recommended to you is starring 'Will Smith' and 'Charlize Theron'. The duo are working together in this movie and the turn over of wealth through telecasting has been; time to renew that lease to us with a watch. Trusting that safety in movies is due to the pre-cautions taken by actors and actresses who fall in love on screen or do not. Watching a movie relaxes us and a review is after all a pre-text to find talent or wit like at the window of being helpful.

I didnt see the begining only that it has Wil Smith so those with the remote insisted on watching it. So Smith is a self absorbed, self focused, self obsessed guy who chases some blond around smashing buildings. This was the most lame piece of junk Ive ever suffered thru. Smith is probably a real life alcoholic and drug user who is not able to act sober, so to give him a movie? They cast him as a drunken slob who has...uh super powers, yeah thats it, thats the ticket! Smith cant act and obviously has real life problems with substances and Hollywood wanted to make some movie with him? There is no plot, who ever produced this film is a total moron. They make excuses for Smith being a little bit off. Avoid at any cost! If you are looking for some action movie with special effects, dont waste your time or money on this flop with no story line its just a bunch of scenes and they cant even hold the camera steady. This is supposed to what, give the movie some credibility? There is nothing to cheer nothing to learn nothing real unless you like watching drug/alcoholics stumble around doing nonsense trash? Just a collection of scenes and money wasted destroying stuff hoping you think Wil Smith did it with his super powers to cover up the drug/alcohol abuse in real life. This movie is a total waste.

This is a movie to make peace. The black guy talks like a black guy. He is disrespectful. He is an alcoholic. And he addresses women with "bitch". Why? Because "they" are like this. No explanation worth bothering. Yet the whole white cast is displaying an acute form of color blindness. See? Nobody is using racial slurs, even if they are displeased with the results. They might dislike him, but it is only fair dislike and they insult the man and not the group or ethnicity. The whites are so tolerant and benevolent that they ignore the smaller flaws of personality and are hospitable and share food and all the things from the history book about the kind Europeans and the savage Natives.Contact me with Questions, Comments or Suggestions ryitfork @ bitmail.ch

The basic premise of this film is a fascinating one that really has never been explored in mainstream films: what happens when a bona fide superhero ends up being more trouble than he is worth? This is exactly the case with Will Smith's Hancock, who (although saving lives) also wreaks tremendous damage to the city and is a dirty, stinking alcoholic. Thus, the "hook" of this film involves Hancock trying to rehab his sullen, non-caring image after meeting a PR consultant on one of his "rescue" missions. What works in this film is the theme of "superhero gone bad". Coming on the heels of "The Dark Knight", which really toyed with the definitions of heroes and villains, "Hancock" takes that theme to a whole new level, as he is a terrible person in every way besides the fact that he saves a few lives every once in awhile. Thus, the most entertaining portions of this film occur as Hancock tries to learn the delicate balance between being a role model and still being "cool" at the same time. Early in the movie, Hancock's loneliness is so readily observed that one can believe he will try anything to gain some respect or friendships. On the other hand, I thought that the reveal of where Hancock is actually from was a bit lacking. The build-up to his origins are fantastic (as his scattered memories contribute mightily to his apathy towards being "good"), but the reveal leaves much to be desired. In all honesty, I still don't exactly know what/who Hancock is with much certainty. More fleshing out of that angle of the storyline may have pushed this film to a five-star rating from me.Overall, Hancock is a very entertaining movie...and really, what more can you ask for?! Despite being a bit lacking in Hancock's character history, the film DOES provide some great action scenes, multiple moments of comedy, and an original storyline that will make you personally feel for the tormented "superhero".
