Excellent, a Must See
... View MoreA brilliant film that helped define a genre
... View MoreThe movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
... View MoreOne of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
... View MorePerhaps what makes the film have a such a raw, earthly quality is its relation to settings of man vs. nature in the modern world. Facing something infinitely more powerful than man is what the story comes down to; perhaps even man can conquer the unknown if he remains true to his natural powers than his ammunition, but of course in the end GOD PREVAILS.I shall not go into the other intricacies of the film and will leave it to the curiosity of potential/virgin viewers to find out for themselves. "GONE" is essentially one of the few action movies that truly lives up to its name and delivers the thrills and spills in no small amount and at breakneck speed. True connoisseurs of hard action.....YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Set in the PHILPPINES, survival suspense of the purest kind. Predator deserves higher ratings. 10/10.
... View MoreI'm so glad people are making entertaining movies that don't have perversions of all sorts in them. This movie is exciting and fun, but hauntingly frightening at the same time.At least some filmmakers understand we audiences are intelligent enough to be entertained by movies with good moral content. It's an action film I won't be afraid to see with my kids. I only hope more movies like this can be made. I'm so tired of filmmakers pushing their demoralizing agendas on us. Movies like this give me hope that I can still find quality entertainment. The acting was good and the special effects were also. I can't wait until the next Gone movie is released. At least I hope there is a next one.I also wish these sorts of movies would be released in theaters. I refuse to pay $9 to see the filth that theaters show now a days but I would pay that much to see movies like this one.
... View MoreSee this movie if you love cinema. Enjoy the things about cinema that make it great. Take a small pillow for your butt cheeks because almost 2 hours of sitting in an uncomfortable theater seat will make you wish you had. But fear not. There is so much non-stop action you won't notice the discomfort too much. The film has obvious flaws, trite clichés, and phony science, but if you are a fan of 50's sci-fi, you will love this movie. And remember, don't take it too seriously folks, just enjoy it. The end of the world isn't going to happen in 2012, there really aren't any giant grasshoppers, ants, or lizards roaming the Earth, and no one's career is going to end because of their role in this movie. It is Hollywood having a good time with a controversial subject. Nothing new there.Enjoy the show!
... View More...not to waste your time watching this vanity project. I've had my comment deleted twice now, for reasons that I have yet to understand, other than the suspicion that someone involved with "Gone" isn't happy with what I had to say. So, I've pared things down to the nitty-gritty this time with an excerpt of my original comments that can in no way be taken as a personal attack on anyone, nor unfair commentary: ""Gone" is the sort of train wreck that gives new meaning to the words. Horrible, stilted dialogue, a script that just plain flails about like a fish out of water, acting that would embarrass the most self-centered of community theater divas, cinematography inspired by the "Survivor" school of swooping crane shots followed by static, nostril-exploring close-ups, terrible ADR work, special visual effects that aren't, pedestrian music that totally fails to sustain any mood or emotion, terrible editing with utterly pointless freezes and fades, no art direction to speak of---the litany of badness just goes on and on...I felt genuinely cheated out of the time it took me to fast forward through most of it...time that could have been better spent staring at a wall...Under no circumstances should anyone unfortunate enough to be reading this subject themselves to this "movie," because long before it's over, they will be wishing they had been "raptured" before they made that mistake." Case closed. Amen.
