I like Black Panther, but I didn't like this movie.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

I'm shattered in all the right ways by this film. First-class acting by the lead characters, brilliant story-writing (want to meet this screen/story writer!), outstanding directing, beautiful filming - I run out of adjectives with which to praise this film.People have compared it to "Brokeback Mountain", but I think that's a mistake. There is loss here, but there is also an enormous amount of growth. The symbolic use of our lead character's breathing challenges at the start of the film contrasted with his loose and easy breathing in the last scene is a perfect representation of the arc of the story. Loss, but clarity and wisdom as well in this film.I watch an enormous amount of gay film, and this ranks easily in the top five films I've ever, ever seen in this genre. And it would be unfair to limit this to a gay audience - like Brokeback (in this respect) it is a story for a much larger audience. Some great examination of relationship, self-honesty, the challenge of being attracted (or even in love) with more than one person - some wonderful themes in this movie.Must-see - end of story.

the expectations of viewer could be the only problem in this case. because the story is almost well - known, the acting is decent, the subject far to be new. but not the story is the most important piece for Free Fall. but the honesty to present the vulnerabilities, the dialog and the need of the other , the crisis who defines a promising career are pillars of a drama who gives not only dimensions of a fight for happiness but its roots. a film who could be useful. not for the artistic virtues. but for the bitter beauty of an ordinary story. and for the feeling to discover one of gray dramas who are only testimony about a relation and its strange ambiguity.

Overall, this is a well directed film about the struggle between two men as they come to terms with their sexuality and its impact on their lives and those around them. The storyline mimics that of Brokeback Mountain but doesn't quite deliver the same effect or evoke the same attachment to the characters in the film. It also focuses heavily on one character more than the other with too little time spent on the companionship between the two main characters. Nonetheless, it's by far one of the best acted and directed films of its kind yet to be released. Free Fall is less about sex and more about sexuality which makes this film superior to many others like it.

Policeman Marc Borgmann is confused about his sexuality. His teammate Kay Engel pursues him. Quickly, he awakes in Marc a desire for a man this healthy 'heterosexual' never suspected. The film's denouement is easy to guess: Marc loses his live-in girl friend Bettina, mother of his new-born son, and he forsakes his lover Kay. In the end, he ends up alone. The seduction scene is cast in a typical German setting: a forest that has the feeling of a medieval tale. It is anything but sexual. The more physical scenes are shot in Kay's flat, with what passes for passionate sex, but borders on the banal. Overall, it is a familiar narrative where boy meets boy and girl and in the end with neither one nor the other. The theme of running is a thread though out the film, as Marc is running to catch a shadow of his inner life that is within reach but never attainable.
