There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

This film is without a doubt my favorite film, and I recommend it to everyone that I meet! I especially love the soundtrack, and keep it close to my heart. I play it all the time... when I'm cooking, cleaning, and especially when I'm writing! The songs "More than This" and "Lie to Me" are my personal favorites. I also love the family values that this film portrays, as well as the fact that this film is portrayed in such a grounded way... I honestly feel as though these characters are real people, and that the struggles they face are struggles that many of the viewers can relate to. Great film, highly recommend it!

This Movie is the only one that I have viewed that has gay main characters that contains no signs of them being effeminate, no mention of the "LGBT" community being "supportive", no sign of loss of masculine emotions, and above all that no hint that they had anal sex...at all... It is stated that they "had sex" or were "fucking", but there were none of the traditionally "LGBT" based signs of it. It is actually quite possible that the type of sexual encounter that they regularly engaged in was non-penetrative. This film, if it were watched by members of the "LGBT" community, would be interpreted a different way, they would say it was the traditional "coming out" story, but that couldn't be further from the truth. This movie is about love between to people who have BOTH just discovered what love was. Shaun is supposedly comfortable with his sexuality, but is initially unwilling to admit he is in love with his brother's best friend because, as the movie shows it was probably the first time he was genuinely in love. Labeling this film as "LGBT-Themed" does not give it justice because it relates directly to the homosexuals and bisexuals who purposefully avoid the "LGBT" community. It is by far my favorite movie because it's story directly relates to anyone who has truly and completely fallen in love.

This movie was incredible! I loved every second of it. The way the characters were portrayed was very unique to the gay genre. Getting to watch as Zach became a whole new person was interesting. The way he reacted and the way he cared for everyone around him was different. I'm happy to finally watch a gay movie without all the comedy, stereotypes or vulgarity. It was a very wholesome movie that ANYONE would enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE vulgar comedies like Eating Out but I wanted something different for a change and that's exactly what I found. I thought it was nice to see Shaun portrayed as a very masculine character. Instead of making him flamboyant or even slightly stereotypical they made it to the point where I thought he was straight. Honestly, I didn't know he was gay until Jeanne mentioned it. I loved that Cody grew so fond of Shaun, it was adorable.

I am surprised reading all those negative comments on this film. Personally I love it. Beautiful story, great music, Zack and Shaun are just perfect. For me Trevor Wright is outstanding in his role. Watching him I could feel his restlessness and chemistry between the main characters is amazing. My favorite scene is their conversation while lying in bed, where Shaun is teaching Zack about taking the compliment. There is not one scene I would change. For me this movie is a great example of how less is more. It is a film of many words that remain unsaid. I am a big fan of independent and European film, but this is the only movie I have watched many times in a few days period.
