What makes it different from others?
... View MoreVery interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
... View MoreAt first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
... View MoreIt's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
... View MoreThe movie started off a little weird; random little shots of people, then introductions... after that the story got really going, and was enjoyable after the unbalanced beginning.I watched this movie mostly to see Sam Worthington's performance, and he was brilliant as usual. He didn't have a huge part. To be honest, none of the characters had a huge part in the story, but they all contributed to each other, and it was interesting how all their lives were in the end driven to the same place and linked to each other.Acting in this movie was either "kind of good", or "really bad". It just didn't get me to sink into the movie but kept me on the surface, watching rather than feeling. The plot was shaky and the story didn't run smoothly. There were outrageously funny moments here and there, and a fair amount of violence (though I'm not sure if it's enough for 18+ rating I've seen somewhere). If the storytelling wasn't so glitchy and the beginning of the movie so unbalanced, I think I would have enjoyed this more. An entertaining ride, sure, but I didn't really get to know any of the people on screen very well, although their motivations were shoved to the front quite clearly.
... View MoreI wouldn't normally take the time and effort to write a review, let alone a negative one, but 'Fink!' calls for special circumstances. Having grown up watching films such as 'Lock, Stock...' and 'Snatch', I'm offended by the comparisons that have been drawn. Whilst the latter films succeeded in mixing the gruesome action and comedy, 'Fink!' failed dismally. The writing was poor and the acting embarrassing; I had to turn it off after 40 minutes and finish watching it the next day, it was that unbearable. I would even go so far as to call the writing lazy, seeing as one of the main premises of the film is based on the story line of Superman 3! It's only saving grace was the performances of Sam Worthington and Steve Bastoni, and even they looked like they didn't want to be there. This film is unoriginal in every sense of the word and is unintentionally funny for all the wrong reasons- I wouldn't recommend it.
... View MoreI heard the budget for Fink was not $300,000 but CONSIDERABLY more. I am told many hundreds of thousands of dollars. Possibly as much as $600,000. The way I heard it the director blew it, got muddled and couldn't finish - which is saying something considering it was shot in HD. It takes a lot to get that messed up. They made a serious mess of a bad script and were bailed out by some good people in the industry, That this version is cogent at all, viewable and sale-able is testament to those who were brought in with some experience. It's amazing that this car crash of a film got out at all. I am not sure this director should ever be allowed to work again. Lets see what "Plex" is like...
... View MoreI saw this movie last Sunday which I taped from the previous night as it was on a little late for my liking.Throughout the film I liked the story and especially liked the moments where there was humour thrown in to take away that this is a comedy and not a real action movie.I thought most of the acting was superb. I personally thought 2 of the 3 actors did a very poor job. They had the perfect chance to show off playing a slacker but ruined it.The performances of Fink, Able, Willing and Jesse were my personal favourites. They really hit the mark. They were absolutely perfect! It was all in all a good movie with some actors lacking in the acting ability. It's not your typical Hollywood rip off. It's something else! There's something about Australian film which distinguishes it from any other film made outside of Australia. They have their own style and often show you the different perspectives of the characters and what really happened. Full of twists and a real surprise! This film is worthy of 9/10 with -1 for the lack of good actors in roles in the film.
