Dji. Death Fails Trailers

Dji is an unusual death. The Dark Knight has appeared in a different form. No, he is not white and fluffy. Dji is just terribly unlucky. All he has to do is to take the soul of a dying man. But the screenwriters prepared some obstacles for Dji. Will he manage to overcome them? You'll see.

A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

"Dji. Death Fails" is a 4-minute short film from four years ago by Ukrainian director Dmitri Voloshin. But even if this one has country of origin Moldova, do not worry. There is no dialogue in this animated movie, so you won't need any subtitles. basically, from start to finish, it shows us the (mis)adventures of Death a.k.a. the Grim reaper who wears a phantom-like robe here and fails in getting a deceased soul out of the hospital. This one is set in a very funny tone despite the dark references and for people who enjoyed "This Way Up" or "Lady and the Reaper". Sadly, in terms of quality, it really is inferior to these two Oscar nominees. "Dji. Death Fails" scored a couple of awards nominations as well, but as a whole I must say I am a bit disappointed. Not a really funny watch in my opinion and the music is way over the top. Thumbs down.
