This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

i enjoy this film i bought this movie from shop it was Awesome but i wish it did it better like Training Day, End of Watch there is no great camera shots' but with (Cuba Gooding Jr) Salim Ade but i thought Cuba Gooding's character is more comfortable being dirty than his latino partner (Clifton Collins Jr), who has visions that are representative of his guilt. Cuba Gooding Jr as actor i liked his movies a lot of them he made. i enjoy Clifton Collins Jr well on his way to blowing in the entire department to Internal Affairs out of some misguided sense of guilt he's first family is gangster become a cop A really strong performance from Clifton Collins Jr, combined with an excellent bad cop come good cop story. Salim is an idiot and makes a number of dense-headed decisions in this movie that lead to a world of sh#4t apart of being cop i think the Action Scenes were Awesome but what that should been longer action scenes like Training Day noting is new in this movie just didn't make it not in top film like Training Day 2 cops were kinda breaking the law but Salim is breaking the law more at end he feels sorry cry's like girl he should be as character, becomes more of idiot. i like the idea that they try to make it like Training Day Cuba is trying to act so hard to be like Denzel Washington character i can tell the bad things on his character what he does that's why the director and producer maybe wanted to make his character like that like Cuba's character mutters constant swear words like Denzel Character in Training day the colors of movie was a bit like Training Day but the colors was more bit weird as i thought it wasn't same but there is action scenes were good i thought it was good that there is some another actors were OK i guess Movie like Cole Hauser is OK didn't do much for this movie but you got 2 actors from Pitch Black. Movie was a little slow moving. You also get the feeling the movie tried too hard to push the idea of corruption to the point where you question the likelihood of something happening. this still has people who are looking for real ideas on movie but not he best as Training Day this movie 10.10 i think it was very good but should of done it better

Probably would give it a six except the plot was just too bad. The actors, cinematography, etc. were mostly pretty good, but the story overall just wasn't interesting. None of the characters were even mildly interesting or charismatic. At least in Training Day, Denzel's character would come out with hilarious lines like, "You can shoot me, but you can't kill me." It uses some cheap ways to maintain your interest, for example, by showing this teenage girl who was mistreated and sexually assaulted by one of the cops working to seek revenge by purchasing a gun and the Internal affairs people talking to police chiefs about the two main characters impending session about the death of a bystander in a shootout... and then you get to the end, and you're like Really, that's the end.

Movie was a little slow moving. You also get the feeling the movie tried too hard to push the idea of corruption to the point where you question the likelihood of something happening. Few examples: The unnecessary stealing of the PDA, the two sexual assaults, the killing of the girlfriend, son, and mother. This all seems so unnecessary, especially the killings. Why would those guys even care if the kids, girlfriend, or mother died? Plus wouldn't it be a lot more work to cover up? And they expect him to listen to what they're saying after they kill his family? And without going into too many details, I found some of the arguments Captain Spain used wouldn't really be used by someone with that characters viewpoints. Other things that threw the movie off were the main Hispanic gang boss (unrealistic, I felt the movie the trying to go into a dark, artistic mindset which didn't fit with the rest of the movie), randomly deciding to show up in uniform that day (why? why was it such a big deal? I assume I missed something), and the line that the IA lady used about serving and protecting first and covering yourself second. From what I've heard it's always protect your own ass from danger first, others after. I'm pretty sure this is a well known policy that they tell police again and again. The fact that the "good cops" said it made he heavily question the amount of research they put behind this movie or to what limit they were going to try to make a point. The whole thing about the main character killing an innocent man was ridiculous. Yeah maybe he was innocent, but the way the movie portrayed it he was going to shoot him. That was the main characters big sin? Shooting a guy that he thought was about to shoot him or his partner? I also disliked the idea that the movie made it seem like the girl wanting to shoot the black officer was justified. Yeah it was messed up, but does death justify it? no. I found me questioning if I really wanted to watch the rest of the movie several times.

A really strong performance from Clifton Collins Jr, combined with an excellent bad cop come good cop story from Chris Fisher and Gil Reavill with excellent acting from Cuba and Clifton, really great chemistry between them both, really solid acting made this film a knock-out, a really good compliment to films like training day. I would highly recommend this film if you enjoyed training day like me. Some great camera angles with the action scenes contributed towards some great tension and atmosphere, very enjoyable with some great faces like Wyclef Jean, Cole Hauser, Tory Kittles, Khleo Thomas, and Keith David to top it off. Rent it or buy it now! top marks. I hope cuba Forgets films like snowdogs, and continues with films like this and End Game, easily his best film since boyz n the hood.
