When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

The 25th Of January 2013 is a bad day for me . I inadvertently typed in the wrong PIN number on my bank card which means I can't get any money out of the machine in the wall and since it's the weekend that means Saturday and Sunday with no money . My boiler is on the blink which means a very expensive call out for a plumber . Oh hold even if I had my bank card there's no money in my account . Cold showers for the foreseeable future and my cold shower tomorrow morning I've got a very long bus journey for a jobs fair that I've promised the job centre I'd attend otherwise no benefits . I could have done with some cheering up so switched on the TV to watch DIRTY which hopefully would take my mind off my problems for a couple of hours . It didn't . It compounded themThe premise is good though obviously unoriginal . If you've the other comments here you'll see that the critics are reminded of several other films all of which are superior to this one , but the story isn't beyond redemption . The problem is the director Chris Fisher adopts a painfully over stated stance involving cinematography , editing and soundtrack . It could be the greatest screenplay ever written and within minutes the audience would be switching to over to something more relaxing such as MTV's 100 Loudest Nu-Metal Countdown . Honestly the directing is in yer face your head will explode It's certainly not the greatest screenplay ever but that said in the final third the story becomes compelling enough - if not to redeem the film - then to certainly stop DIRTY gaining a rare one out ten rating from me . Perhaps it was the fact I empathise that the two corrupt cops find themselves sinking deeper and deeper in an existentialist quicksand of their own making . That said their misery was one of their own making and of course they're mere characters in a fictional film where as people in real life find themselves sinking in to a metaphorical swamp it's usually caused by bad circumstance . But hey at least you've still got your health

Movie was a little slow moving. You also get the feeling the movie tried too hard to push the idea of corruption to the point where you question the likelihood of something happening. Few examples: The unnecessary stealing of the PDA, the two sexual assaults, the killing of the girlfriend, son, and mother. This all seems so unnecessary, especially the killings. Why would those guys even care if the kids, girlfriend, or mother died? Plus wouldn't it be a lot more work to cover up? And they expect him to listen to what they're saying after they kill his family? And without going into too many details, I found some of the arguments Captain Spain used wouldn't really be used by someone with that characters viewpoints. Other things that threw the movie off were the main Hispanic gang boss (unrealistic, I felt the movie the trying to go into a dark, artistic mindset which didn't fit with the rest of the movie), randomly deciding to show up in uniform that day (why? why was it such a big deal? I assume I missed something), and the line that the IA lady used about serving and protecting first and covering yourself second. From what I've heard it's always protect your own ass from danger first, others after. I'm pretty sure this is a well known policy that they tell police again and again. The fact that the "good cops" said it made he heavily question the amount of research they put behind this movie or to what limit they were going to try to make a point. The whole thing about the main character killing an innocent man was ridiculous. Yeah maybe he was innocent, but the way the movie portrayed it he was going to shoot him. That was the main characters big sin? Shooting a guy that he thought was about to shoot him or his partner? I also disliked the idea that the movie made it seem like the girl wanting to shoot the black officer was justified. Yeah it was messed up, but does death justify it? no. I found me questioning if I really wanted to watch the rest of the movie several times.

this is an alright movie most of the parts do not make sense and its like the movie was just slapped together in one night...and make sure to keep a tally of how many times the f word is used in the movie...not sutiable for children under the age of 17 now wonder its rated R...Cuba Gooding Jr. acts good in the movie but the producer and director did a horrible job in making the movie...could have made it something more interesting...i just happened to buy this movie today from target for 9 dollars and after watching it realized its a waste of time and a waste of 9 bucks...do not recommend buying just rent it at a local Hollywood or blockbuster...i was struggling between buying this and tokyo drift and after watching trailers of this movie the trailers made it sound and look great, but now i realize i should have put my money towards fast and the furious tokyo drift...now i have learned my lesson got a pretty bad rating on IMDb close to tokyo drift thats why i chose this movie over tokyo drift...maybe next time i can watch some drifting but not today!!

I watched this film around a friends house and you should not waste your time or money on this film.the character development is all over the place, the back story is not fully explained and the plot is utterly stupid - none of the characters are likable and the story doesn't seem to flow or progress naturally. the camera work too is also very inconsistent, you could even go as far to say 'poor'. many of the accents in the film were laughable - i'm not even sure why some parts were subtitled.the main problem though, apart from the camera jumping around and zooming to the extent that it looks more like a 'trendy' diy programme is that there is no story, no plot and no real characters - just people walking around reading lines. seriously boys and girls, this blows. i'm glad i actually didn't spend a penny on this - i'd have asked for my money back.
