Sadly Over-hyped
... View MoreThis movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
... View MoreI didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
... View MoreThe story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
... View MoreDil to pagal hai is one of the best films of Bollywood ever been made. It has a combination of Fantasy as well as Reality. It inspires you to have a dream, believe in yourself, have faith in god and fall in love. Like its tagline, Someone somewhere is made for you, The Movie Completely justify. This movie was based on the fact that Love is something else. It is so Spiritual, It is so divine. and Love and Friendship are different.Madhuri Dixit and SRK are Fantastic, Excellent and Mindblowing. Karishma had the Best performance of her career. Madhuri Dixit had an another addition in her kitty of Blockbuster Films. She was so natural and genuine in her role.SRK is the Best Actor. Karishma was superb as usual. The Music was at its best. Composed by Uttam Singh, It was the Best Soundtrack in the Bollywood.
... View MoreDil to pagal hai is a fantastic film. Its my all time favorite.I like the films directed by Mr. Yash Chopra and among them its the best one. Since the year it released i.e. 1997 no other film has been like this to me till now. My extreme liking for DTPH is because of following reasons.. ->Its tag line i.e someone somewhere...is made for you. ->Its story line and Yash Chopra's perfection as a director. ->Its superb music by Uttam Singh and Lata Mangeshkar's melodious duets with Udit Narayan.I love its songs; and Lata's voice seems to be fresher(even more than old songs of her) ->Uttam singh's background instruments rock whenever i listen to the numbers. ->Shahrukh Khan's first performance in which he did not stammer and did not deliver dialogs in the way like he earlier used to.He was very serious and his acting was quite, calm and mature. For the same reason he got several awards for this film. ->Madhuri's performance was great and so was of Karisma. Both got awards and Karisma also got a well deserved Rashtriya Puraskar(National Award). ->I love its screenplay specially in the scenes having an acting stage within the film.(See its climax to confirm what i said.) MUST SEE IT AFTER READING MY COMMENTS IF YOU ARE NOT AGREE WITH ME.
... View MoreNisha, Rahul, Pooja are three different aspects or perspective's of love. I bet more people can relate to Nisha's character, Karisma's performance is near perfection there is no comparison between her and her co-stars. The national award was well deserved. Karisma should continue acting and win more National awards. Rahul is the dream-weaver...he creates story yet cannot relate to love. He needs to see it to believe it. Maybe experience love, when he does love in the form of Maya claims him and Rahul being a guy is upfront and honest with his feelings. Maya the illusion...who better than Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri is one of the world's most beautiful women, she could be an actress in Hollywood. Madhuri and Karisma work well together, DTPH has become a cult classic. I first saw the movie in theaters in 1999, not the best experience I had to change seats due to someone touching my hair. I learned to like this movie...I had to see beyond the imagery. This movie is quite profound. The debate whether the heart is crazy will continue for eons. Personally I believe that people do not want to take responsibility for their behavior. All Pooja or Maya has to do is be honest with AK's character. He was really good in the title song! AK has great stage presence (he sings too) He was great in the Awesome Foursome Show 98' and the 2001 show. I like that Punjabi song he sings. Getting back to the movie... Great performances, great music... I love all the songs. With Pooja's character it is not always easily to break the hearts of those close to you---especially since she is emotionally attached to them. But wouldn't loved ones want her to be honest with herself. The best part of the movie is the "musical theater" performance that is when Rahul confronts Pooja...as their friends watch. To avoid such issues people should be honest with each other in the first place...expression not repression. Anyways I have the collectors copy. There is more I could say I could write pages psychoanalyzing the characters and blah blah blah.
... View MoreSPOILER : I hate to waste any more of my personal time to write a comment for this horrible film. But if this comment is read by any aspiring viewer, shall at least be saved from spending three dreadful hours of his life. One of the finest Director of India suddenly presents us his worst offering. Sadly this film is so shocking & horrific, that I cannot describe my foretasted feelings while leaving the cinema hall. The movie revolves around a Drummer & utterly butterly romantic-girl-flattering-lover boy Shahrukh Khan who doesn't want to bingle with Karisma Kapoor who inturn is in deep love with the former, while the new girl in their block, Madhuri pulsates for Shahrukh with vice versa fashion, finally to see Akshay kumar's future love-life flattered by witnessing the twosome's emotional bond.So we have the biggest ludicrous dialog put on air "Hey, He is just a friend, I never loved him", "She is just a friend", "I never saw him from love angle" .............................. CAN A BOY & A GIRL BE BEST FRIENDS, HEY CAN TWO BEST FRIENDS FALL IN LOVE .................................. STOP IT !!!! STOP IT !!!! for god's sake this concept sucks. So these 3 characters keep revolving round & round. The script writer must have written the film in less than 3 hours.Perhaps this Film is the most senseless movie ever made in Indian cinema history.
