I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

Let's not kid ourselves, this movie is plain awful. I watched it first, then the 1st one just recently. While the first Delta Force movie takes a curve to emotionally powerful scenes (like the selection of Jews on the plane or the beating to death of the American Navy diver) before blending into your so-expected 'American soldiers kick the Hell out of terrorists' routine this one fails to make the viewer care for its blunt manipulation. Hell, even Bloodsport managed to make me root for Van Damme when his best friend got ripped into two to take down the bad guy, but not Delta Force, because a) it was trying too hard to move the plot along without having a half-decent storyline b) the production value was so low and the acting was so bad for the most part that it was just begging for a downing review. Then again, Aaron Norris did direct this flick, his brother must have believed in Family Values above all else, right? Good for you Chuck, for believing in family. Too bad the Norris family failed to convince anybody else that they had a decent action package formed from the first movies' production team. And I did miss Silvestri's memorable themes above all else! Don't get me wrong, this movie is just rightfully in place as your Sunday afternoon mind killer on TV, but is a completely letdown as a Delta Force sequel.

Ramon Cota is exporting illegal drugs into the USA. When Colonel Scott McCoy and his partner attempt to bring him to court, their efforts are all in vain, as he is freed. Unable to contain himself, Scott's partner lashes out at him in court, to Cota's anger. He exacts revenge on his wife and child, eventually killing McCoys partner when he seeks revenge for the death of his family.Out on a personal mission of vengeance, McCoy leads a brigade of skydiving commandos in, along with himself, to rescue the hostages and exact violent revenge upon Cota.....I wasn't a fan of the first film. Having seen films like Invasion USA, this, and being a big fan of Van Damme, it didn't really do it for me, as it wasn't as over the top as I was expecting it to be.Well thankfully, the makers have gone bonkers mad with this, arguably a better film than its predecessor. Norris is hilarious, bearing up punks in a restaurant, to stretching his acting claws by looking slightly concerned when he learns of his partners death. But the best thing he does in this film is literally pulverise his recruits in the training montage. It's not here's how to defend yourself or how to avoid a knife attack, he just calls them up and hurts them.Drago is wonderful as Cota and one does wonder if in some scenes he was actually inebriated, because he slurs his lines like Oliver Reed after a heavy sessions.Set pieces are what you would expect from a low budget action movie, and if you were bought up on a diet of cheesy action movies, this was a decent main course.

Or known as The Colombian Connection but that's way too cheesy for me, but cheese is the name of the game here folks. Yep 'McCoy' is back and ready to take down some major drug kingpin scum. Funny thing is yet again despite the film title there isn't actually much Delta Force action. Again it all happens right at the end for the big finale, there's even less Delta Force action than in the first film! maybe they should of left out the Delta Force 2 bit in the title. Its pretty straight forward stuff, the ever evil Billy Drago is the worlds most dangerous richest drug kingpin ever and he's flooding the US of A with lots of Lemsip....errr cocaine. So the DEA draft in Chuck Norris of Delta Force to basically save the South American country of 'San Carlos' where Drago is based, save the USA from all the drugs coming in...just save the world in general gosh darn it!.Its all very predictable stuff that we've seen before (baring in mind its an old film of course), the step by step motions of any action flick really. The bad guys pull off some deals, kill some people, the good guys manage to capture the main boss, he gets away, he takes revenge on family members and this ignites Norris blah blah blah. It could easily be 'Lethal Weapon', well any of the first three really.Norris plays the same character he plays in all of his action films, the same damn bloke!. He doesn't swear, he doesn't speak that much, his one liners are a bit tame but we always manage to see him topless at some point. That said he does the job we expect him to and he does it reasonably well, but he's no Arnie, JCVD, Jaa or Gibson if you ask me. I think the problem is his films never really come across as adult action flicks, they lack that bloody punch to really get you excited, I guess his films feel like slightly adult episodes of the A-Team.In all honesty this film is so cheesy and clichéd it feels like an old Bond film, especially with all the henchmen at the end wearing the exact same outfits. Not military garb which would be fine, but casual looking clothes, as if they all shopped in the same store or Drago ordered a huge supply of his favourite design. Speaking of Drago he's the boss here as usual, we all know Drago isn't exactly the best actor around but its his face. That snarly, slimy, creepy vamp-like face along with his skill of being a really really sadistic evil bastard that you just wanna see get taken down. Here he plays the white suited, white fedora wearing drug dealer to a tee, right down to the greasy pony tail. We know that Norris could break his neck in a heartbeat but Drago doesn't play like that, he's a shifty, dirty, underhanded slimeball who hides behind his henchmen and various weapons, love it.The films poster was always ice cool, Norris calmly cradling an Uzi, it looks smart, alas the film isn't as cool. Its very by the numbers, highly hokey and doesn't really look that special either. For the most part its rather bland with not too much happening, the finale is much better of course but nothing to write home about. As said at the start this is when we see some Delta Force unit action but its nothing amazing, lots of explosions. If it wasn't for the uber cool Drago this film would be a bit boring really...there I said it.5/10

Michael Dudikoff and Steve James , the "American ninja" duo was at one point attached to the film, before it was given to Norris. Chuck wasn't happy with the screenplay , but needed the money so he made this movie. He still dislikes the final product. Lee Marvin was going to reprise his role in this sequel to 1986 "Delta force" , but sadly he passed away in 1987. It's also sad that five crew members were killed in a helicopter accident during filming. Chuck and his brother Aaron gave blood at the hospital to try and save them. What a grim beginning of this review... The movie won't bring a smile to your face either. The main villain does really despicable things in this one , that strangely "Delta force 2" at times belongs more to the modern times of dark , gritty action movies.Billy Drago ("The Untouchables") is fun as always as the bad guy. This must be his third movie with Chuck. Everybody else is not worth mentioning.Lots of heavy handed conservative social commentary and evil Latin American stereotypes. A little bit of propaganda. Also not very impressive action. Bad direction from Aaron Norris with lots of slow motion (not used effectively either). I have to admit that the stunts (skydiving) are pretty cool.Brainless sequel for Chuck's best movie. To be honest it doesn't really have anything in common with the first movie (with the exception of Chuck). Maybe you will enjoy it on the "so bad , it's good" level. I would rather watch "License to kill" or "Lethal weapon 2". I give it 1/10.
