Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

Like zombies? Tired of watching Mila what's-her-name kicking hordes of them out of her way in heels? Bored of George Romero pretending that he's still relevant? If the answer to any of these questions is 'yes' then this could be the film for you.Deadheads is about a zombie uprising, only two of those groaning shufflers just so happens to be intelligent. Yes, they're dead. Yes, they're decomposing and yes, bits of them are falling off (I'll leave it to your imagination to guess which bits). In fact, they're basically alive, apart from the fact that their fellow walkers don't want to eat them and the remaining humans all want to shoot them in the head. Add to this that one of the two unfortunate living zombies is still pining for his ex girlfriend and you have a road trip across America with two wisecracking zombies. The two IQ-upped undead also take along a 'conventional' zombie (who they call 'Cheese' for some reason - I might have missed why) and treat him like a pet. Cheese, in turn repays them by stealing every scene even though he does little else but groan and look slightly confused. There are plenty of pop culture references added into the mix and, before long, you may even forget you're watching what is, in effect, quite a low budget 'student-like' film.Ultimately, Deadheads is a fun film for all the family (assuming your family is 'The Adams Family'). It has great characters with even greater facial hair and may even take the place of the hallowed Shaun of the Dead in the Zomromcom department. Now, just remember never to ask a zombie what he keeps in his pocket.

I just happen to see this movie while going through random titles. I am glad i found it.It's a low budget film without the horrible plastic look and feel that most of them have. I was quiet surprised of the quality of acting from a lot of no name people.Taken from the view of zombies, it creates an original plot and sub plot.It reminds me of dale and "tucker vs evil", or a low budget "zombieland".I wish there were a lot more low budget movies like this one.

Deadheads is both a zombie movie and a love story about two zombies who go on a cross-country road trip to reconnect with a girlfriend from their waking life. It is far better than one might expect from the premise.I am not particularly interested in zombie movies so I was pleased to find that Deadheads had characters with very human motivations; several times during the film I found myself caring for Michael McKiddy's character, despite his zombie appearance. One great thing about the film is its self-awareness. The directors, and actors know they are making a zombie love story, and they embrace the ridiculousness of that fact completely. The movie is all about fun--there are many pop-culture references, references to other movies, and a lot of extremely vulgar humor and absurd situations that could only happen in an independent film. There is however, just enough sentimentality to keep it human and down to earth. In other words, if you make your girlfriend watch only one zombie movie this year, make this the one--it has enough echoes of romantic comedy to appeal to a larger audience. With that said, I am confident I am the target demographic: a male who grew up loving 80's movies. There are several scenes that seem a little too long but overall the pacing is good, the action is exciting, and the length felt right. Deadheads is not going to change the world. But if you have an interest in humor, gore, and want to be entertained for an hour and a half it is worth your time.

Ha OK I'am a total bona-fide Dead head;I have seen to many zombie movies for my own good and I'm always on the search and look out for the best new zombie movies, which this one had a lot of potential of living up to that standard. Sadly at the end of the movie I was so disappointed in the plot, and lack of zombidom. What would of helped the movie is the backdrop of a zombie Apocalypse, which the plot summary and beginning kind of alluded to.I did enjoy the makeup, and the idea of conscious zombies,on a mission. I also enjoyed the pet zombie they had"cheese";had some good comic relief, yet I just wished the two main zombie characters would of just ate some more brains! That would of added some conflict to the movie,to eat or not to eat; not to mention it would of gave the zombie hunters who were following them something to do beside being douches.I'm sure the writer had his reasons for leaving out the HORROR...and instead opting out for comedy and romance, but still the movie was lacking as a result.Anyways If you like buddy cop films, and zombies than this movie is for you, just don't expect to much blood and zombies try something like "The Horde" or watch the T.v series "The Walking Dead".
