If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

I loaned this from the library because it was referred to a few years ago in a tv news magazine as one of several faith-based films to anticipate. I hadn't heard about its release, so when I saw it at the library, I got it. I turned it on that weekend. I made it through five minutes before I had to turn it off. Had to. I told my kids about that and they decided to watch it themselves just to see how bad it could be. The night they did, I heard these uproarious blasts of laughter, and they finally came upstairs to tell me I had to watch "this one part." Reluctantly, I did. And I ended up watching a bit more, joining them in their laughter--it was so awfully made. My son asked my recently what the worst movie I ever saw was and I couldn't think of any one film.Until now. This film could have been salvaged, perhaps, if they had added a cooky musical score and remarketed it as a comedy in the tradition of Monty Python.

Never knew the story of David and Goliath was a comedy classic till I came across this film. From the muffled microphones when guys embrace, to fast-motion death stabs accompanied by chopsocky sound swipes, to skies rumbling almost every time David speaks (not quite as timed out as saying "Frau Blücher" around horses in Young Frankenstein, but close enough), to shameless soldiers correcting their leaders' perceptual errors, to Baldrick from Blackadder as a Greek poet, to inexpert CGI work that creates several unintentional giants among the Philistines besides Goliath, I don't think I ever laughed and smiled as much through a biblical story as I did here. I will not be surprised -- and kind of look forward -- to someday seeing a musical or dark comedy version of this story. 4 out of 10 if a serious effort; 8 out of 10 for the unintentional comedy. Made me a fan of the entire, mixed ethnicity cast, too (including the one or two wooden actors among them).

I wish there was a negative number I could give this terrible movie. The whole Chey clan that put this trash out should be ashamed of themselves. The acting was like a grade school play, the cinematography was from a 1960's super8 camera, the script was no where to be found in the Bible. I had to fast forward to the end just to see what a catastrophe might be there. And it was. Then I had to run to my computer to write this review to hopefully prevent anyone else from watching this attempt to mock the Bible.

Is there a point in yet another bad movie review? I just watched this on Netflix - where the highest rating was 2 stars. I just don't know what to say. There is no possible way that someone HONESTLY thought this was a good movie. The good reviews I just read obviously had to be jokes or sarcasm...right? I love bad, campy, cheesy "B" movies, so on some level I got a chuckle over the ridiculously awful and inaccurate costumes, "acting", painfully repetitive dialogue and the sound quality. Those sound effects...I can't even..form words to describe how bad the sound quality is. As an example of bad movie making in every possible category, it is hard to think of a better choice ESPECIALLY because this was made in 2015. 1. Why is the army so ethnically diverse? Why are the accents so inconsistent? For all the people who inexplicably called this movie accurate: ancient Hebrew + British accent + fairly diverse ethnic backgrounds = accurate???????? I have nothing against diverse casting, but don't call it an accurate representation of ancient Israel. 2. What nationality / culture did the producers think this story was set in? 3. Was this even a serious effort? I honestly can't tell if the film makers are taking themselves seriously, or if this is parody. I don't have the strength to go on.
