Crawl or Die Trailers

Earth as we know it is gone. A virus has destroyed the planet and rendered all its women infertile, all but one. An elite team of soldiers are tasked with bringing the woman to safety on the newly habitable Earth Two. But when they are forced underground they find themselves fighting for survival from an bloodthirsty creature in a maze of ever shrinking tunnels. As the team's ranks start to dwindle, the tunnels shrink and the ammunition run out, the crawl for survival becomes more and more desperate.

One of the best films i have seen

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

Surprisingly good production value in this tense story of claustrophobic horror survival. One killer heroine called Tank, in the tone of Ellen Ripley, stands out as a tough warrior with both brains and beauty. The audience is treated with intense action scenes, gory deaths & sweet shots of Nicole Alonso's fabulous, scantily clad backside. She is a producer of the film so she doesn't mind! I would recommend this film to any horror or sci-fi fan out there, especially those who enjoy the film Alien. The plot is exciting, the effort of the characters is exhausting, and the path to freedom is dark and treacherous. This is an example of a smaller studio sci-fi/horror film done right. I like it so much that this review was written now years after my initial viewing, and directly after my second viewing. It's just one that stuck with me, and maybe you too.

Hmm. When the production company is called Backyard Films you know the film is going to be cheap, but not this cheap: CRAWL OR DIE is one of the worst horror films I've seen in, oh, a month or so; a poverty-row, originality-free production with a scant storyline, poor dialogue, non-existent acting, and a generally all-too-familiar narrative. The storyline involves the last fertile woman on Earth (you know, like in CHILDREN OF MEN). She has to get to a place of safety, so a security team escort her down an endless tunnel, except they're being pursued by an alien beast intent on chomping down on human flesh. The entire film seems to have borrowed the air vent scenes from ALIEN and ALIENS and extended them to feature length. This should be a claustrophobic film but the level of ineptitude means it's just boring instead. The only part I liked was how the tunnel is constantly narrowing, but not much is done with that premise either. The film is too dark, too derivative, with characters you can never muster up the energy to care about. It seems the director was going for a scary, THE DESCENT-style atmosphere, but it's entirely missing. This film's a dud.

While being a big fan of scary movies, this one was new to me and the experience was new as well. I agree whatever is chasing them is scary the real nightmare for me was the thought of the tunnel getting tighter and tighter as everyone keeps moving forward. How many of us haven't had to squeeze into a closet or sit in a small chair or ride a packed bus or subway. The movie conveys the feeling of being squeezed in with excellent effect. I didn't rank it very high because the movie in my opinion was very simply (not much plot), but the feeling of anxiety stuck with me through out the film, as well as the curiosity of where the tunnel was going to end, if it was going to end. If you catch yourself nosing through on line video selections or scrolling through your cable TV menu and see this one, Stop and check this one out.

OK, the beginning was 'OK'...the story line was set & the main characters were introduced fairly quickly...good. The ending was I have to admit pretty bad.....almost felt like the ideas had run out & people just wanted to get the thing over & done with. BUT the main part of the film however.....ANOTHER STORY! I have never seen a film that has attempted to handle the scenario of people stuck in crawl spaces trying to escape something & I thought it was very well done. The heroine literally goes from a small space to a smaller space, to an even smaller space. With each one I was hooked as to how it would go.....it was very well done indeed. Unfortunately I am sure in the future someone else will try the same thing in a more polished & slick way, but kudos to the team that gave it to us first!!
