It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

The story line is basically a slasher we've already seen in the past, but at least this movie knows it's ripping off other movies which is a fun aspect, a paradise island resort that's basically made for people to party and get laid. What once seemed like a good idea at the time, has turned into a nightmare when the staff members of the resort start dying off by a poncho-wearing masked killer. Now it's up to the remaining staff to figure out who the killer is.This a horror spoof comedy that came and went in 2004 without leaving a mark which is kinda sad, as it's actually a pretty good movie, okay it's nothing amazing and could have been better, by which I mean funnier, all the funny moments were seen in the trailer with the exception of maybe a few scenes. The opening triple murder is pretty fun, but the middle section seems to drag, I think I would have enjoyed this movie more if it was a straight up slasher movie instead of a horror comedy as the comedy element doesn't seem to be present most of the time, they don't seem to mix very well together, but I did rather enjoy the who-dunnit aspect and the several red herrings and clues, and when the killer was revealed in the end I wasn't that surprised but at least there was some effort put into it. And the final showdown scenes were done very well, I loved the last bit action on the speed boat with the killer and last surviving characters, the mix of action and comedy really worked at this bit. The scenery and the setting I thought were pretty creative and the cast were all pretty likable and well acted as well. The cast like I said were pretty decent, Bill Paxton was just fantastic in my opinion, playing the stoned owner of the island resort, and making a comeback of sorts to slasher movies. Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske all played their comedic roles really well and the girls Brittany Daniel and Jordan Ladd were gorgeous and showed off they're hot bodies to perfection and really made up for the films many flaws. All in all a fun movie but not the best spoof movie of this kind I suggest Scary Movie 1, which is much better and funnier than this.

The staff of Coconut Pete's Coconut Beach Resort are dedicated to delivering sun, sea, and sex to a hedonistic crowd of fun-seeking part-goers, but when a serial killer begins to bump them off one-by-one, the partying stops and the panic begins.I'm a big fan of extremely hot women in teeny bikinis, and I always welcome a bit of senseless violence in my films; serve these ingredients up with generous helping of humour and I'm usually good to go. On this basis, Broken Lizard's Club Dread looked to be a surefire winner.Unfortunately, not only is the comedy in this film exceedingly puerile and poorly delivered, but most of the characters are irritating in the extreme, particularly Putman, the dread-locked Indian with the English accent (who couldn't die soon enough as far as I was concerned) and Bill Paxton's hippie singer Coconut Pete (who I may have found funny if I knew who the hell Jimmy Buffet was... but I doubt it!).Admittedly, the film's makers keep their promise of much quality female flesh and there is the odd genuinely creepy scene enlivened by a smattering of gore, but Club Dread's complete and utter lack of decent laughs ultimately negates all the good work done by the semi-naked babes and the machete wielding maniac.

Well this is a review for Club Dread an interesting movie by those zany guys that brought us "Super Troopers". This is a comedy/horror about a bunch of people going to an island resort to have a good time but little do they know a psycho killer is out to ruin their alcohol/drug soaked lives. There are parts of this movie that are very entertaining such as some of the twisted songs that are in the film but really this doesn't much feel like a comedy or a horror. I don't really feel much like laughing or screaming. The movie does have some small value and can be entertaining as a party movie. I'm not sure that I'd watch this movie unless you are a little intoxicated first. Well best wishes to your viewing.
