Memorable, crazy movie

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

With the likes of a bad actress, Allison Lange, in the lead, what else can you expect? Straight hair hanging in her face and wearing tight tight dresses cut up to her kazoo, she does little to add suspense to this dull movie. She's that bad. I spent the entire movie laughing at her. At her, mind you. Amazing how through two thirds of the film she plays this helpless bimbo. Then suddenly in the last reel she becomes The Hulk, wiping everybody out. Who wrote this dribble? To my surprise, there is the presence of veteran actor John Savage. Far from his roles in the likes of DEER HUNTER and ONION FIELDS, he is so wasted in this. It's sacrilege to see him appear opposite the likes of Lange, who can't act her way out of a paper bag. Brendan Fehr is wasted as is Brad Rowe and Jerry Wasserman. The kid brother Lorne Stewart and the demented mom, Chilton Crane, were okay.I think the director had a thing for the leading lady with all the footage that went to her. A waste.

this is a pretty good movie, all things considered.it has its moments of suspense and tension, and there are a few possible suspects for the psycho,at least in the first half or so.the acting is fairly decent, and the writing is fair.i will say that i found that sometimes the build up to some scenes is a bit too drawn out.and the ending is a bit too ambiguous for me.however, having Jerry Wasserman as the creepy town sheriff is a stroke of casting genius.you never really know what's going on in his mind, and whether he's a good guy or a bad guy,at least until near the end of the movie.he steals every scene he's in.John Savage is also good as the creepy father.when you add everything up,this movie is certainly watchable and more than that at times.for me,"Christina's House" is a 7/10

Soon forgotten toned down Slasher flick starring Allison Lange. The movie is at the first half a whodunnit Slasher but it keeps giving the audience hints about who could be the killer. First, the jealous insecure boyfriend has some weird attitudes and even attacks Howie for no reason. Then, the father who is a pervert and looks at his daughter as a sexual object performs some actions that could make you think he's a loony. Then, we have Howie. The "pretty" boy who fixes the house but he really isn't a "normal" boy.If you haven't watched the movie give it a try; it's not as bad as people say but it's not a good movie by any means. The plot is kind of interesting but predictable. Almost all the death scenes are off-screen you can discard gore in this one.Overall this is the kind of movie to watch while you are doing "anything" else. For example, if you are chatting or talking over the phone with someone boring, , "Christina's House" may be the perfect option. Allison Lange is really beautiful and can act. She should appear in more important movies.

I don't write comments on most the movies since most of the comments from other users have justified the movie. But this one, most people just assumed that this is another "wannabe" horror flick (and at the time of this writing, users have given this movie average weight of around 3). In reality, it is far from it. I would say, it is above average. The movie is a little slow. All I can say without spoiling is that, the real twist is in the end. Trust me.There are no "big" actors in this movie and that doesn't make this movie a b-flick.8/10
