It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

... View MoreI miss Jeff Goldblum. He is the tall nerdy scientist in the first film that constantly reminded the viewer not to take it all too seriously. Bette Middler is a great "new" feline villain. Her human magician sidekick is most annoying and not funny. Some of it works but most of it flies over the heads of younger children. Try to explain to a child why it is titled "The Revenge of Kitty Galore"? Shirley Bassy singing the musical "title" is a hoot! The Flying German Shepard Dogs is maybe the best scene of all. I miss the original cast and more clever voice casting. The Jim Henson puppets in the first film are far better than the (almost) total CGI in this film. For a sequel, it's not bad but I still like the first one better. It was was run to death for many years on cable and the sequel should have been done many years sooner.
... View MoreThis movie is nowhere nere as good as the first cats and dogs but it is funny and entertaining. one thing that this movie completely fails at is heavily relying on CGI granted some animals are animotronics and real animals the whole thing is just a whole fake mess. another thing is lame jokes but i expect it in a kids movie. other then that Sean Hayes returns to play Mr. tinkles and is funny as always. so i would recommend you see this movie.1hr 22min/82min Rated PG for animal action and humor **1/2/****
... View MoreFor a children's film, 'Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore' is pretty much the usual generic flick. Kids would enjoy it and the adults who watch it with them might enjoy some of it. I for one enjoyed the references, especially the one to 'Silence of the Lambs'. While the human characters are boring and clichéd, most of the cats and dogs and the pigeon are likable. The voice casting (that includes stars like James Marsden, Christina Applegate, Bette Midler, Nick Nolte, Sean Hayes and more) is good too. There's plenty of action and high-tech gadgets (even though they are mostly nonsensical). Even though some of the jokes made me laugh, the writing is very amateurish. Plot holes are abundant. This really is a movie for kids (who don't question logic or the lack of it). It's downright forgettable but certainly not among the worst to come out that year.
... View MoreCats and dogs 2, is better than its precedent from 10 years ago, yet it lacks laughs and interest. The movie is based on the cats and dogs joining together and trying to beat Kitty Galore. In my opinion this villain was not interesting as the last one. This one is less creative and is not as creative. There is also a new main character and some returning. It was entertaining to see how the dogs and the cats were trained to do this movie. The effects lack a lot of technology and they looked a little fake. I did not get a chance to see this in 3d, but I think that it wouldn't have been that great since there are not a lot of scenes that pop out at you. At the end of the film it leaves with a cliffhanger where you think a third installment will come soon. The only thing that makes me want to see it is the same villain as the first movie, but other than that, I hope the directors and producers come up with a better script. Rent it for the kids, but not for teenagers or adults.
