Such a frustrating disappointment

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

An enjoyable outing which stands alone as good, pulpy entertainment with plenty of pulpy action, and some fine performances. There's no real surprises but I feel that this was a character to get behind and cheer on. The pacing towards the end of the second act into the third falls off as tension drains, but up to then it is is solidly old-fashioned Saturday good matinée entertainment. It maybe quite inane but the action is commensurate with the drama which is to its credit. There was no need for over-the-top seizure level CGI.

I decided to watch the MCU movies in chronological order from time periods, so I started with Captain America. It kept me entertained, and I really liked the start, but it definitely stagnated a little at times in the middle of the movie. I feel like Marvel can definitely do much better than this, but it was a good introduction to Captain America, who I will be seeing lots of in the future in these other MCU films.

Captain America The First Avenger is one of the best Marvel movies of all time. If you have not seen this movie you are in for a treat. One of My all time Favorite Marvel Movies and My Favorite Superhero Captain America.
