Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

A strange movie indeed. The first twenty minutes or so feels pasted together and badly dubbed. But eventually, if one sticks with it, the movie comes together into a smooth flowing train of images, music and performance. Some of the acting is great. Some of the writing and directing is great. The film perhaps suffers from too much raw talent and not enough plot and storytelling, and craft. That said, it is worth watching, and certainly worth watching what will come from this group.

the movie is too slow. the main character, clay, doesn't even speak for the first half of the movie. we never really know what's going on. something is going on, but we, the audience, doesn't really know what it is. everything is left unsaid and undone at the end of the movie so you leave thinking that you have no idea what the heck you just saw.,

The most original movie about youth I've ever seen. There is none of the shock violence of Elephant, Kids, Thirteen, Bully-----But Bringing Rain is more shocking than all of those films. In it's way, more violent too. The cast, I think, will someday read like a who's who of great dramatic ators. Adrian Grenier is a star, period. Paz de la Huerta also is magnetic. This movie is not to be missed.

At a co-ed private school in New York State life goes on after an auto-accident that leaves a girl with a missing leg and a boy with emotional scars deeper than those on his body. In response the school has `locked down' for the remainder of the term and cancelled all off campus leaves.Although the details are never clearly revealed, this accident has affected more than just the two students involved and it seems as if all of the students at this school bear scars, if not from this accident, then from their growing up in this institution. There is enough pain in this movie to satisfy the most avid reality tv junkie and enough bright young faces to allow the romantic to formulate their own happy endings but this film stops short of that and provides no definitive ending at all, allowing the viewers to create their own.
