Heather Graham and James Purefoy play a couple who desperately want to have a baby. Unfortunately, she has been diagnosed as infertile, and the couple can't afford the medical treatments that might allow her to conceive. Good fortune appears to be smiling on the couple when they are given an opportunity to receive free treatments at a mysterious fertility clinic.

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

We used the fast forward button, a lot to make it to the end. Bad acting, weak story, nonsensical, bad bad bad....The camera work was amateur. The shot breaks to different types of film detracted rather than added to the story. Many of the characters were weak stereotypes you would expect from a first year writer. Much of the movie appeared to be bits taken off the cutting floor of better movies. There were too many parts of the movie that were predictable. THere was no real intensity, surprise, or horror. Irrelevant and disjointed ending.

Sexy teacher Heather Graham (as Samantha "Sam" Howard) and novelist husband James Purefoy (as Craig Howard) are having trouble making babies. They go to a fertility clinic where she gets pregnant. After their New York apartment is ransacked, the expectant couple moves into the sleepy little neighborhood near the clinic, which doubles as a cloning institute. Eerie music plays as Ms. Graham is stalked by a satanic black-hooded stranger. Just like the husband in Roman Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby" (1968), Mr. Purefoy's career takes off while Graham experiences womb kicks from Hell… There are some nicely photographed locations, but "Blessed" will probably leaving you looking for an abortion (or the original "Rosemary's Baby"). It's dedicated to David Hemmings, who died during production. Looking (appropriately) ghastly, Mr. Hemmings is the devilishly-browed book publisher "Earl Sidney". If you're familiar with Hemmings from "Blow-Up" (1966), prepare for a shock. Also creeping about, and unintentionally muddling the plot, is priestly dramatic Andy Serkis (as Carlo). Handsome 1970s hunk Andrew Stevens produced; his sexy 1960s mother Stella Stevens plays "Betty" the Realtor.*** Blessed (5/16/04) Simon Fellows ~ Heather Graham, James Purefoy, Andy Serkis, David Hemmings

This is one of the worse movies I have seen. The script steals the premises from Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, and other movies that were already riping-off originals, while failing to develop its characters or plot remaining contrived, silly, and disjointed. The direction fails to engage us and the acting is pedestrian at best. I rated it one star because on a couple of occasions the photography and sets of New York and the countryside (apparently Romania) were interesting. What a pity this was David Hemming's last movie. He was a great British character actor who became a 60s icon after portraying Thomas, the young handsome photographer in Blow-Up - Antonioni's atmospheric existential opus. Thomas is dissatisfied with his life despite his professional success, material possessions, and sexy young groupies. When he thinks he has witnessed a murder, the nature of reality become questionable while cannabis, wine, and Swinging London's pointless exuberance only add to the blur. Now, that is a movie with ideas, suspense, excellent cinematography, good direction, good acting; Hemmings incarnated Thomas, who underneath his artistic creativity and elegant bohemian style, full of cool arrogance and wit, is just an isolated and vulnerable man wanting something meaningful in his life.It is very sad indeed to see a bloated Hemmings in Blessed, playing a cartoonish tycoon whose pet project is to clone Satan. I guess he needed the money badly - the only reason to be in this stupid movie. You can save your money and your time by staying away from this boring crap.

A gorgeous Manhattan couple (Heather Graham, James Purefoy) move to upstate New York after deciding to use a fertility clinic based there. All seems fine until a pregnant Graham starts feeling unusually painful scratching from her unborn twins. Suspicious of her husband's new business associate and friend (David Hemmings), Graham feels ignored and distanced from her hubby while simultaneously being stalked by a hooded man (Andy Serkis). A predictable, but fun climax, nice visuals, and some fun one-liners and campy dialog make Blessed a worthy film.Graham is clearly the star here, but Purefoy is absolutely sexy in this, and Fionnula Flanagan showcases her acting talent as Purefoy's suspicious agent fabulously. David Hemmings and Andy Serkis have some great lines, and Stella Stevens also stars as a nosy real-estate agent. Sort of reminds me of Rosemary's Baby or The Devil's Advocate a little bit.
