Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

"BELLA" just made my top ten movie list! It helped me understand why I've chosen the path I'm on: I've taken a life, and must atone, or give one back by sacrificing for another. For my friend Anna MacariI LOVE the way it made me think for about 5 minutes at the end, to figure out what the happened! this movie does not play to ignorance, as American movies do.The main character, Jose, is a very likable and inspirational example. Don't be fooled by the harsh mistake the characters make...or judge them or others, or Yourself...everyone must suffer to learn true compassion.

Life can change in one day. "Bella" directed by Alejandro Monteverde proves that ordinary life can be moved both positively and negatively and end up in results that you would never had imagined. Eduardo Veraestegui plays Jose, a skilled soccer player who while driving distracted accidentally hits a little girl and takes her life. After serving a sentence in prison, Jose works at his brothers restaurant and meets his colleague Nina (Tammy Blanchard). Nina is pregnant with a child she does not want to have, and comes from a rough relationship with the father. Nina also has many other issues. The two form a friendship that lasts long and is very heartfelt and powerful at times. This film deals with the theme of redemption and chance very well. Jose with his guilty conscience looks for a brighter future and finds it through Nina, but unexpectedly. Alejandro Monteverde shows us how easy it is to find solutions to problems in life, and how powerful the gift of friendship is. The connection between the two characters change in quality in life is also brilliantly written. Nina unexpectedly getting pregnant and then meeting Jose is a parallel to Jose accidentally killing the girl and meeting Nina. Creative writing is touched with great acting and gorgeous cinematography to make this heartwarming tale an inspiration and a masterpiece of film-making.

This movie is amazing! One of my all time favourites! It is a truly heart- warming film with lovable characters that the audience can relate to. There are moments of humour and of sadness and the soundtrack supplements each scene perfectly. Nina, an unmarried waitress, finds out that she is pregnant and the father never enters into the picture (both literally and figuratively). She has no idea what to do with a baby and weighs her options. Jose, the chef at the restaurant, runs after her when she is fired and becomes her support system, her shoulder to cry on. Jose has his own secrets which he slowly reveals to Nina, and the audience, as the film progresses. It is a movie for any audience and one that I would recommend to anyone.
