To me, this movie is perfection.

Sadly Over-hyped

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

There is not really much for me to spoil of this short but it was nice seeing Terry Mcginnis again ever since Justice League Unlimited.I wish there was another short because the whole thing was just left at a cliffhanger with Bruce and Terry left to fight the alternative Batmans.

This one-minute-plus short was written and directed by Darwyn Cooke to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Batman mythos, and it succeeds perhaps beyond expectation, leaving the viewer wanting more.In the future elderly Bruce Wayne is attacked in the Batcave; when the new Batman, Terry McGuiness, arrives, Bruce reveals the Batcave was attacked by "me" - which turns out to be a robot replica of Batman in Bruce's heyday; the robot fights Terry, and as it turns out, there are seven other Batman Duplicates waiting in the wings. The eight Batman Duplicates resemble the Batman character design spanning different periods of the character's existence; sharp-eyed viewers will recognize the Bill Finger original, the Adam West and Michael Keaton Batmen, and the Brave And The Bold character design. The short screams for full-length treatment and brings back reminiscence of one of the strongest story arcs of The Animated Series - the HARDAC story arc, about a supercomputer and artificial intelligence that decides to replace human beings with robot duplicates. Given the success in the Batman Beyond series with such classic Batman villains as Mister Freeze, Ra's Al Ghul, and a reborn Joker, the rebirth of HARDAC makes too much sense not to be given full-length Batman Beyond treatment.

Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de)

In this very short movie (not even 90 seconds), Batman fights a lookalike of himself that is actually a robot. And as we find out at the end, there are more of these mechanical creatures out there willing to kill the original. This is a bit confusing to me because apparently Bruce Wayne is not Batman here, but Terry McGinnis is according to the cast description. Anyway, the two voice actors do a decent job and you can see that they are experienced. Still, this short film from last year is simply not interesting enough and the fight sequences weren't great either. Plus it's way too short to somehow develop a real story. Good watch for all fans of the bat superhero, but everybody else does not need to watch it.

It's one of several 2-minute shorts commemorating Batman's 75th anniversary, I believe. It's brilliant but it's not a TV episode. You can find it on you-tube and yahoo video. It's probably also airing on Cartoon Network. It's a cruel tease to anyone who was a fan of the original series. There is also another listing of it on IMDb credited to Bruce Timm. If you like Darwyn Cooke, check out the Parker series of comics. They are outstanding. It appears to feature the original voice actors, most notably Kevin Conroy. And the theme music is there, too. It's so short, hard to say more without giving away spoilers.
