It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Watching the credits of this movie should ring a few alarm bells . It has several credits to the story but only one accredited screenwriter . Somewhat ominously the names Boaz Davison and Tim Cox appear , both of which are prolific names amongst the dross that gets shown on the Sci-fi channel . Certainly the story is at fault and you instantly understand that it's gone through umpteen rewrites where a writer has canceled out elements while inserting their own . There's a civil war subplot , a quest subplot and a subplot featuring a sorcerer and his evil mistresses . The central premise probably started off as one of these subplots but you'll be confused as to what one is most important to the story I don't want to be too cruel but not only are the cast terrible actors but they're not the most aesthetically pleasing people you'll see in a Sci-Fi Channel movie either . If the director had cast BAYWATCH extras then maybe his reasoning would be much more understandable but the actors are every bit as unconvincing as the eponymous Gryphon . In fact every time it appears all the actors look in entirely different directions

What can I say? Some films just plain suck. Whether they are cheaply done or filled with bad actors or have a bad director or whatever, some just aren't good. This is one of those for most every reason you can name.First, the acting. I don't think I've seen any of these actors before (except the one who was the wizard, I have seen him in something; personally, I thought his performance was the only one in this that was worth anything), and I'm not broken up about it. Not a one was worth much at all. Amber Benson was especially bad (to everyone who likes her and thinks she's hot and everything, sorry; she's cute, but that doesn't make up for terrible acting). Jonathan LaPaglia was pretty bad too.Next, the effects. Does anybody agree that the Gryphon effect was one of the worst CGI's in the history of CGI? Dear Lord above save us from such atrociousness! They should have spent more on that one and less on everything else! Finally, the plot. Nothing too original here, and some was cheesy-cliché--the prince and princess sleeping together (that scene was a blatant rip-off of Troy!), the two nations working together (multiple fantasy and sci-fi movies), the nations reuniting into one at the end (blah blah blah).Don't waste brain matter watching this movie. It just is not worth it. And for the love of God, don't buy or rent it! Don't' encourage these morons to make anything else.

Well, it has been a while ago, since i've seen a movie put together so awful. This is beyond any way to produce a movie. I don't like to bash movies, but this is a sad happening.For instance, the Gryphon flies with its wing through buildings. People fall dead before even being touched. I guess the budget has been around the $1000,- to produce this movie.Its hard to continue looking, but the very first 10 minutes are funny. When seeing the Gryphon enter the screen, i hoped it was only for the intro. But nothing was more real. The surrealistic Gryphon remained as "less-realistic" as in the openings shot of the movie.Concluding : This is a waste of time and money.

Extremely bad "Lord of the Rings" wannabe. (The Delphi king even seemed to be trying to look like the king in LOTR.) Bad acting, bad battle staging (notice how the "dead" soldiers disappear), bad COSTUMES, and incredibly bad CGI. Poor Larry Drake - when I say him in that getup at the end, all I could think of was John Candy in those old SCTV skits!! Plus, what was with his two Xena reject warrior women? Why did the queen need to sacrifice herself to get rid of them? Obviously meant to be a big meaningful "sacrifice" scene, it had no emotional impact. To top it all off, Benson & LaPaglia were totally unbelievable and miscast. Don't get me wrong - I love cheesy movies, but this was just BAD!!
