Just perfect...

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Having personally lived this JW lifestyle i find its portrayal completely and disturbingly accurate. However my only criticism would be that the scope of the film is very limited and does not portray the full range of horrific and cruel abuses against apostates and congregation members who excercise free thinking.

For anyone who thinks that the jw's are a harmless religious sect, you need to see this truthful film from someone who was on the inside. My mom and family and whole community of people that were the only ones I was allowed to have any association with, they are all shunning me, and I haven't even done anything wrong at all, I just stopped believing that it was the only true faith and that jw's were the only ones that were going to survive the destruction of Armageddon. But because of this, I've lost everyone. Highest rate of suicide of any group is the jw's. It's not harmless, it's abusive and makes people feel trapped. This movie is completely accurate and shows the inner world that most outsider's will never get to see. A sad, but truthful film, that is a must watch! Cults of this kind are dangerous!

Surely the two most fundamental things that a film needs are good acting and a good script. This one had neither. I have no ideological ax to grind, I have no religious beliefs but am interested in religion as a phenomenon. Nobody in this piece came across as sincere or passionate. Blank expressions were the order of the day, and all opportunities for real drama were thrown away. They managed to make potentially promising material simply boring. I couldn't believe in any of the characters or the story itself. All the film managed to achieve was to make the JW cult appear dangerous and ridiculous, which is pretty easy to do. One to avoid in my opinion. See 'First Reformed' instead.

2 Thessalonians 2 verse 3 reads : "Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction." Just a reminder to all that this verse applies to all evil apostates in a general sense not just the garbage that is apostasy film. Avoid apostasy film at all costs. The Bible prophesied Apostasy. The Bible says it had to come before the end. Apostasy has been in existence for many hundreds of years now, in fact since the death of the Apostles. These apostates have not got much time left and they and Satan are desperate. As pointed out at the conventions.. Be courageous. Apostates like the director of this film are weak and gutless, whilst Jehovah's Witnesses are courageous. Jehovah's Organisation is invincible and Jehovah's People are protected. Keep the Faith people. Apostasy film is cinematic sewerage. Apostasy film is based on lies, lies, lies & then even more satanic lies.
