How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

I actually watched 'anniyan' before i watched the original Hollywood ones and I loved it that time. Later got very disappointed seeing how director shankar, shamelessly ripped from multiple Hollywood movies to make this.There is nothing original in the movie, expect the comedy scenes and songs Theme of the movie is copied from a Hollywood classic called seven (killing people based on sins) and primal fear(the whole split personality scenes and climax, only addition from primal fear is remo,for songs). Action scenes are ripped from kill bill and matrix, sort of mixed them both, like how he mixed seven and primal fear to come up with the script. Sorry, Shankar fans, I am just sharing my disappointment to find out that one of my favourite Indian movie is not at all original.

To begin with, shankar is the director who did a great movie called Indian. But here in this movie where is his story? He took some from seven, some from Fightclub. Some of the fights from highly acclaimed Hollywood movies (which is to be noted as they make some Indians aware of such kind of the fight). The story is so insane that an ordinary man, who is no super hero and it is not a sci-fiction too. Then why making such great fight scenes and unwanted songs? At least the story line is clear and as usual he rocked his screenplay with humor and thrill. The actor did his character at his best. But the movie is too commercial than giving the message. And Of course most scenes of the multiple-personality is shown illogical, just to show the acting skills of the actor. No hope in those other characters of the movie. The music is not so good and well the songs as said is unnecessary to the whole concept of the movie. And why a plenty of Love in an irrelevant story. Who asked the third character called "Remo" why a great hype on "Anniyan". The movie may be a bit entertaining for commercial lovers. But when it comes to cinema, it still is cheating the movie goers with the commercial stuffs, that are more frequent. Any way This movie is far more better than his next. "Sivaji".

If you do not know Tamil (just like I don't) then watch the DVD version of ANNIYAN with subtitles (not the Hindi version). You will be proud to find that the best movies in the world are Indian movies (I will learn Tamil just to watch its movies). Roles were challenging but acting/performance was great too. Direction qualifies for a new degree after good better and best. Comedy has good timing and morals delivered are clear. I have been humming the songs specially - Iyengar Vittu Adege with out really knowing what the lyrics means. Actions were well shown and well place in the movie. The scenes were so well placed. Music was super. This is a art, classic, action, science, romance, thriller, drama. A movie does not get better than this.

My experiences with Bollywood movies are quite good. Although I only watched the ones that had a higher rating. So it's normal that they are good.This movie is somewhat different from the other movies I've watched. Those were more comedy's. This movie also his a comedy side. But it's much more than that. It's much more complex than a comedy. The other personality's from Ambi are very interesting. Anniyan and Remo. Anniyan is his dark side and Remo his romantic side. I won't tell you any more. Because if you like to see something different from India watch this.Good luck with finding it! I'm lucky I had the opportunity to watch this movie.
