When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

This is a very scary movie. The original Anaconda is very scary. But this sequel is scarier. This a very scary movie. It has a great story line. It also has great acting. It also has great special effects. If you do not get scared of this movie then no movie will scary you. Some scientist go into Amazon in find an Orchid that they think could be cure for cancer. They find group of big man eating snakes. This is very scary. One mistake they made is that there are no tigers in South America. But still no big deal. This a such a cool movie. That is should be no big deal. This movie is a must see. It is very intense. You my not want to watch it alone. Try not to scream in terror. If you thought the The Exorcist was the scariest movie ever made. You could be in for a surprise.

I kind of got a kick out of the first ANACONDA when I saw it in the cinemas, so it was inevitable that I'd catch up with this sequel sooner or later. Sadly, it's a film that totally obeys the diminishing returns of sequel law. Whereas the first film had plenty of up-and-coming talent (Owen Wilson, Jennifer Lopez) and at least one Hollywood star, Jon Voight, this sequel has a fresh-faced cast, most of whom are totally unfamiliar. There's the token Latino chick, a blonde woman, a muscular 'The Rock'-type guy, an annoying comic relief black guy and a token Asian. There's also at least one British actor (Matthew Marsden, who went on to tread similar jungle territory in RAMBO) whose plot twist is utterly unsurprising, and a brief role for Morris Chestnut – the wimpy porter in UNDER SIEGE 2 who's become tough and an action man in his own right. The plot, what there is of it, consists of the hunt for the titular flower, the discovery of which will lead to a huge scientific breakthrough or some such thing. Anyway, the party inevitably starts getting picked off one by one by those pesky snakes and it all ends with action, explosions and death. There are some obvious, tired plot twists and plenty of clichés along the way, including an irritating monkey. The biggest sell for me was that the title's ANACONDAS, meaning that there are multiple enemies expanding on the singular monster of the first flick – just like ALIENS did to ALIEN. The problem is that this film's budget means that only one snake is on screen at the same time, apart from in a pit scene at the end. So what was the point of all that? The sinking budget also means that the CGI animation of the snakes is WORSE than the animation in ANACONDA, which was made a good seven years previously, we must remember. So, with poor monsters, rather uninventive death scenes (characters are swung through the ceiling or pulled into water to die), there isn't much to recommend here. The script is mundane and the lower certificate means that it's all very kiddie-friendly. I usually get a kick out of these jungle adventure films but this one's a chore to sit through, a definitely forgettable exercise in unoriginality.

Heavens! This feels like it goes on for more than "Gone with the Wind" did! Lordy! The film (such as it is!) is almost interminable. Just basically a lot of running around the jungle with occasional scenes with one of the snakes. The rest is just goofy melodrama. And, some dude keeps yelling and freaking out constantly like Bill Paxton in "Aliens." Man, can't that guy have gotten eaten? At least Paxton was entertaining. Now, don't get me wrong, this is (amazingly!) better that the horrifically awful original "Anaconda," starring "Master Thespian" Jennifer Lopez and the always-terrible (at least since the 1970's!) Jon Voight. Oh, my, I am having grisly flashbacks just thinking of that! The visual effects are better here, but how could they be worse? The original used CGI in its infancy, and it wasn't a good idea. It came across as really fake in that movie. At least here, they have the good sense to stage the snake scenes at night and in the rain. The film score is the only redeeming thing in the movie. The cinematography is fine, but doesn't help make up for everything else!Do I need to say avoid? I do? Then, avoid!**** (4 Out of 10 Stars)

The producers of this series found pay dirt with Anaconda sequels. This second installment is one of the best.Scientist finds a rare orchid that blooms once every seven years that has rejuvenating effect. The company sends them out to harvest a batch before they stop blooming in two weeks. And of course there're anacondas waiting for them where the orchids are blooming. There's bit of reality show, and bit of adventure in this movie, and characters are well fleshed out, each playing their part to enhance the story.Sweet justice, and bit of humor rounds up this excellent made for TV adventure.See it if you find it.
