It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

I was surfing the internet about "Always Remember I Love You" and noted in a couple of sites that the movie was "based on a true story". I was not aware that it was fact-based, but the film has the ability to run you through the entire spectrum of emotions. If the movies does not make you cry at some point, then (unless you're clinically dead) you'll have a big lump in your throat. Not only is this a good Christmas holiday film--Mother's Day is high on the list, too. Of course, when you have a made-for-TV movie this good, it is watchable at any time.Patty Duke is in top form as well as 16 year old Stephen Dorff. The supporting cast, including David Birney, Joan Van Ark, and Richard Masur, make this two hours of television well worth your time.

Stephen Dwal...I mean, Dorff does what he does best (keeping a low profile) while stalking a family he may once have been part of in this rather touching weepy. The biggest mystery is how they managed to find an actor shorter than Stevie baby to play his brother. CGI must have been out of the question so I can only presume it was done with mirrors and the basket ball net lowered by five feet. Like the eerily similar 'Face On The Milk Carton', there are curious memory flashback sequences whereby the young victims see themselves through the eyes of their kidnappers or maybe it's an out of body experience. The trippy camera angles and coloured gauze filters suggest that magic mushrooms may be the culprit. Served up at the dinner table by mum? Not such wholesome family entertainment after all then.

I love this movie because it is such a wonderful family story. I taped it a long time ago, but the tape is old and now it skips. I am looking to purchase it, and highly recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. This movie makes me cry each time and it really makes you feel good afterwards. Excellent acting as well (Patty Duke is terrific!). Watch this movie with family or even by yourself...Its an A+++ movie!

"Always Remember I Love You" is my favorite made-for-TV movie of all time. I cry every time I watch it, which is the best test of all for a good movie! The performances are superb. Patty Duke, Joan Van Ark, David Birney and the rest of the cast bring the story to life in a powerful way. The story is well told and the characters are true to life. They are characters you come to care about and love. The other element that ties this movie together so well is the music. This is just a wonderful story.
